My journey in pet ownership began post-college with Jungle, a predominantly Bichon mix who was left unadopted due to her mixed breed. I adopted her at 5 months old, transforming her from a timid, overly lively puppy without proper hygiene habits into a stable, friendly, and confident dog with good bathroom routines. A year later, I rescued a stray cat from a cold December at a highway rest stop. From being palm-sized to now being able to hold her own against Jungle, our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Moreover, my experience extends to training neighbor's rescued stray dogs, instilling in them basic manners and a sense of security and calmness around me, which has been pivotal for dogs with a history of abandonment. I've also been involved in rescuing stray cats, ensuring their health checks are up to date, nursing them back to health, and finding them forever homes. My strength lies in my approachability and ability to make animals feel safe and at ease, facilitating the teaching of simple etiquettes like waiting before meals, following me during walks, and proper indoor bathroom habits.
