3 fenced acres to run and play!
Pet care experience
Hello! I have been raising, showing, training dogs for over 20 years. I am a Team HUNTSMITH Advanced Professional and Certified Dog Trainer. I am the first woman and the first second-generation trainer to ever pass their program. Dogs are my passion and part of my family. I have German Shorthaired Pointers and an English Pointer that love to run and play. When your dog is staying with me, they will have the opportunity to run and play outside all day, weather permitting. Everyone is kenneled up or crated safely at night. If your dog plays well with others, they will be allowed to run and play with my dogs all day. If they choose to be more on their own, I will make sure that everyone has ample time to run, potty, and play multiple times a day. I do have goats and chickens that are safely penned up so the dogs cannot pester them. I train dogs for hunting, dock diving, obedience, and show. I mainly work from home but do train in some other local properties around town. I am also the current local 4-H Dog Project Leader, a Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog, and AKC Temperament Test Evaluator. I make sure that dogs have a majority of the day outside exercising. If I do have to leave the house, all of the dogs are penned in their kennels or crates. I do not leave any dogs loose while I'm gone. If you would like to work on basic obedience as well, we can discuss that further. Please check out AllStar Gundog Kennels on Facebook for more training information. I have 3 acres that are completely fenced with 6' chain link and an electric fence running around the bottom to deter the dogs from digging and escaping. Dogs are never allowed outside without me on the property.
Reviews
My husband and I boarded our dog for 2 days over Thanksgiving. Our dog Murphy had a blast his hole stay. Chris was great with him. We felt really comfortable leaving him there from first appearances. Chris was very nice and her place is great and beautiful and had lots of space for him to run and play. She had him out most of the time and sent us multiple pictures a day and was always in contact with me. It was snowing so that was a new experience for Murphy and Chris was great with him and took lots of pictures. When we picked him up he was really happy and clean and he even tried to go running back inside. We were all really happy with his stay and plan on using her for boarding again. My husband and I both feel better when he's somewhere like this and we think he likes the attention and space better too. He's in another home, not a cell with some grass.
Chris is professional and personable! Our fur-babies loved their visit, and I loved knowing they were in good hands!
I have no worries or concerns when my dog is with Christopher. She is attentive and a true animal lover.
Christopher was awesome! She took care of everyone and kept us informed on everything! We will definitely be using her again!!

Information Christopher S. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if the dog has any unusual or aggressive behavior towards dogs, other animals, or people before it arrives. I also like to know if the dog is crate trained. All dogs are required to show proof of current vaccinations including bordetella (kennel cough). A schedule of the dog's feeding and walking times would be appreciated to try and keep the dog on as normal of a schedule as possible. *With the epidemic of the Canine Flu, it is highly recommended (REQUIRED for imported dogs at this time) getting your dog the bivalent Canine Influenza H3N2 and H3N8 vaccine. All of my dogs are vaccinated, and while clients are screened before their stays here, I cannot guarantee that they are not carriers, as the symptoms don’t usually show up until 7 days after being exposed. Boarding at any home or facility, daycare, dog parks, grooming facilities, and vet hospitals may increase the likelihood that your pet comes into contact with this virus.* Things to bring with your dog, for their overnight stay: - Food (portioned out per meal) for the entire stay, plus one day (just in case) - Medications and/or supplements clearly labeled with dosage instructions - Collar, harness, halter, leash, etc - Boarding Agreement Form which will be emailed to you after we discuss boarding and/or daycare. Click the link to view Boarding Agreement: https://bit.ly/2msFhKA - Copy of current vaccinations Please note: boarding is for 24 hours. If a later pick up is required, a daycare charge will be added to continue Rover Guarantee coverage. Drop off/pick up times for boarding are between 8 am and 9 pm, by appointment. ~I recommend that toys or beds are left at home due to they may become lost or damaged during the stay. I have extra crates and bedding that your dog may borrow in case you do not have one or it is not easy to transport.~ I accept altered, unaltered, and females in heat. All sizes and breeds are welcomed also. The base pickup/drop off charge is $10 within a 15-mile radius of my house. Anything further than that will have a charge of .58 per mile.
A typical day
I have 3 completely fenced acres that we can play on. They can run, chase lizards, and play fetch. If training has been discussed, the dogs can accompany me to obedience, field, or dock diving training. The base pickup/drop off charge is $10 within a 15-mile radius of my house. Anything further than that will have a charge of .58 per mile.
