Pet care experience
I've been taking care of animals for 15 years and it's an absolute pleasure! Since I'm an animal rescuer at heart, a lot of the pets I work with have special needs. I've had cats with Cerebellar Hypoplasiahave and dogs with hip replacements. I treat all my clients with the same love and patience I give to my own animals. I will go to any lengths and so will the animal parents I work with.
Reviews
Wonderful experience! Would definitely book again!
I can’t recommend Christine highly enough. My dog is more than a handful and I am a neurotic pet parent but neither phase her at all. She easily worked through my dogs anxiety and even had some pointers for some training issues. Her communication was consistent and I always knew how things were going. She took excellent care of my home and even took the extra step to wash her bedding. The peace of mind knowing my puppy was in great hands while I was away was absolutely priceless.
So professional. Felt guided through my first experience.
We engaged Christine to dog sit our senior dog Theo. Between hiring Christine and leaving on our trip, Theo experienced an injury to his last good knee that resulted in him being unable to get off the ground without assistance. This change in Theo’s condition obviously increased the scope of care that we needed. Christine never wavered in her commitment. Her daily, very complete updates on Theo’s condition and behavior were comforting and informative. Especially when Theo stopped taking his medications via our time tested, and previously reliable technique. Through her patient trial and error approach, Christine got Theo to accept his medications again. We use her technique to this day and Theo is doing much better because of it. I can not recommend Christine highly enough.

When working in your home, I try to leave things as I find them. I ask my clients to make sure to write down their animals' needs so that I have something to refer back to and ensure that their animal gets what they need.
Information Christine R. would like to know about your pet
Please fill out your profile with vet information. Let me know if your dog has any triggers, like fireworks, trucks, or if they don't like other dogs. Are there any trainings you would like me to reinforce, ex. Stay off the sofa. Meet and Greets are vital. You can expect me to ignore your dog (at first!). This has proved to be the best way for them to get to know me. This way they can settle down or warm up when they're ready. Everything we go over I will most likely ask you to write down because I work with a lot of dogs/cats and I will most likely forget where you keep the food, etc. Please let me know if your pet has any allergies and what treats they like!
A typical day
I try to balance a combination of play time, socialization and exercise in a beautiful location. Where we walk depends on your pup and what they are comfortable with. In the beginning, sticking to a walk route that has been established is key for building trust and keeping your dog comfortable. If your dog is into it we can hit a dog park or a cool hiking path. Every dog is a unique individual and part of the fun is discovering who they are.

I've recently returned to California after living in NYC for the past 17 years. So at the moment, I'm flexible. Before moving, I worked primarily in the morning and afternoon, Monday - Friday with weekends off - and with occasional dog sits as clients need them.
