Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Christine! I work part-time as a fabricator for an arts metalshop, on-call as a dog-walker in Manhattan, and am a volunteer learning to become a wildlife rehabber at the Wild Bird Fund. But, I still have extra time to help out with in-home visits and dog-walking for my neighbors in ASTORIA! I am comfortable with all dog types, even large breeds-- I walk mainly large breeds with my on-call job in Manhattan, and our family dog growing up was a big, boisterous Labrador. I've had experience with different doggy personalities during walks, from high energy "must-eat-everything" to stubborn couch potatoes. I am currently a cat owner, and have cat-sit quite a lot on Rover, so I can definitely help you out with cat visits. I'm used to my own cat, being pretty shy and finicky, so the extras of taking care of litter box trouble, different food ratios, brushing, and medicine is never a problem. You can trust that I'll make your pet's safety and home security a priority, so you can rest easy while you're away. Watering plants, checking mailbox, all part of the deal. Christine is a fantastic sitter who takes care of my kitties like I would myself. She is communicative, warm, and responsible. She is perceptive to their moods and quirks and sends great picture updates that show me what they are up to!
Christine is great with my kitties. They love her inventive games and affectionate pets. I love that she is mindful of things like consistent appetite and potty times, and that she is always mindful of their safety. For instance, if she knows I may return late, she makes sure to give them some extra food, just in case rather than just following normal instruction mindlessly. Basically, she cares for them the way I would if I were there.
Christine is a wonderful and communicative sitter for my kitties. She makes sure to mention anything that is notable and is perceptive to their quirks and what may be typical or atypical for them. She is always finding different ways to engage with them and is adaptable with play (but also knows when they want to chill out and get cuddles). I always feel so at ease when Christine is watching them and though I may not always have time to respond while I'm away, her updates are consistently thorough.

A typical day
We can go on your dog's familiar route or I can take him to the nearby park. If you have a low energy dog, I can take him back to the house early to play and still get some attention time in.
