Pet care experience

Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Christine. I love all animals and I have tons of experience with them. I was raised with animals since I was a baby. They have been around me my entire life. You will never have to worry if you choose me to care for your fur baby. I don’t work so all my attention goes to your pet. I love to play with animals and discover their each individual personality. If your pet has special needs or takes a certain medication at any specific time, I will make sure it’s administered at the very time you instruct me. If your pet needs a bath; I will always make sure the temperature of the water isn’t too hot or too cold and I will never leave a pet unattended in water ever! I’ve raised four children as well as owned several pets over the years since childhood so being responsible for their needs is something second nature to me, it goes without saying… Your baby will be pampered and brushed and always feel content under my roof. I make sure the pets I care for are happy. I make sure I develop trust in them by playing games with them regularly and keeping them on a routine schedule so they feel consistently cared for. The pets I watch I cherish as if they are my own and therefore; I would never neglect them. I am always with them with whatever I’m doing, they are always included. I have experience with both young newborns and elderly dogs and cats.. I treat each according to their individual needs. Also, I always make sure at my house that all my doors are closed and locked and I have several pet gates in place to ensure they don’t run outside. I also have an excellent home alarm system with cameras always on and all around my property. Safety takes priority in my home. I also keep baby monitors on from one side of my house (my bedroom) to hear what’s going on in the other side of my house so that I’m always able to hear in every room what’s going on. I don’t have a fenced yard; so they will never be in my yard alone. But I do have a large (newly)screened in patio lanai where dogs like to play with their balls or go in the dog pool in the warmer months. Of course any time they are outside on the patio I am right there supervising them the whole time. And they are never outside when it’s too hot or too cold outside. If I go outside with them in my yard, I will always have a leash on them that I put on prior to opening my front door. I also put a tag on their collar for double protection; though it isn’t needed. My home is quite big and so often play fetch with dogs on my lanai. I own a French bulldog who is almost 6 years old. He is very passive and super sweet and never aggressive at all. I usually keep him in my bedroom because he likes to sleep on my bed during the day. I guess he’s slowing down now that he is almost 6 years old. So since he likes to stay on my bed, he doesn’t see the other dogs I sit for because the pets I sit for are on the opposite side of the house and divided by a tall pet gate. So there are never any issues with me watching other dogs because most of the time my dog doesn’t even know another dog is in my home. My tv is always on for my dog and the pets I sit for on the opposite side of the house are in an area where the tv is on for them too. I mostly play utube videos of other dogs which many of the dogs I sit for actually enjoy watching. I give them a couple nice long walks per visit as well as frequent potty breaks in my yard. Then I have a nap time for them; where I play lullabies on tv which really seems to relax them and puts them to sleep. They are on a regular schedule with me which I find they seem to really enjoy. I provide several beds around my house which I wash often and keep everything clean. I also clean their dog toys often and make sure they always have fresh, clean purified water in their water bowl. I enjoy taking walks with them and my neighborhood has plenty of friendly pet owners who walk their dogs as well. I live in a very beautiful family filled neighborhood and I have lived here for over 20 years. My son Hunter lives nearby in an apartment with a wonderful dog park; so on occasion, with your permission of course; I would seatbelt your dog in my car in the pet seat and run them over to the dog park to socialize. I will only do that if I am watching one or two dogs at a time.. If you prefer your pet doesn’t go there, than I will abide by your rules. I have plenty of toys and beds for your fur baby. However, if you would like to bring over your pet’s favorite toy, blanket or bed, then you’re of course welcome to do that. If you plan to board your pet with me for several days than I suggest bringing a pet crate or carrier; if you have one. I have one if you don’t. Since every pet I watch varies with their diets, I think it’s important that each pet owner provide their own pet food. Here is a little background about me. I grew up in Florida. And I grew up with animals around me since I was a baby. So I have so much love for all animals of every type. When I was beginning middle school, I was the neighbor the other neighbors turned to whenever they found a stray or lost animal. I would take care of baby birds, abandoned bunnies, turtles, frogs, stray cats and dogs. I would always take into my home natures’ neediest. And when I was about 8 years old I would be at the horse stables every weekend for years taking care of my horses... so this taught me at a young age to be responsible and how fragile their lives can be. I grew up having such a strong nurturing instinct that when I got married, I had four amazing children and ended up mostly raising them on my own as a single Mom. Now, my children have all grown up into independent adults. But I see them often throughout the week. I do have a son Skylar who is an adult living with me at the present moment. He works a full time job 5 days a week and he too loves animals and understands the rules of my home regarding keeping the doors closed and locked at all times. If anything, he helps me by nurturing and loving the pets I watch and assists me in feeding them. I will be the only one walking them though. When I was little I grew up with a brother who was born completely deaf and later diagnosed with Autism. I taught him how to swim, ride a bike, do math problems, how to paint pictures etc…and so I’ve grown up with this desire to help those in need. I went to college for four years and I majored in psychology. My focus was on infant development because I am crazy about babies from always being crazy about animals and pets I’ve had. . Well my babies are all grown so now my focus is mostly on pets! Lol My home growing up always had house pets my entire childhood. Cats, dogs, birds, turtles etc…so I am very comfortable around animals and I have a very relaxed disposition and the pets I’ve cared for seem to adhere to that. While pet sitting, I occasionally will have up to 2 pets boarding at a time. The dogs I watch are all small and under 40 pounds and I will not compromise with that. Because if I watch four dogs, I don’t want any really large dogs around the smaller dogs because that could be harder to manage. However, my home which I own is a large 3400 sq foot home with several bedrooms and a huge bonus room which is the main pet area and I also have a very large screened in patio with doggie beds etc. so if I felt their was any issue with any of the pets not getting along, I have plenty of places where they can be content and not have to be on top of each other, if they need distance. So far (knock, knock) I have had no issues. I have never had issues before and I usually have two of the dogs on the couch with me and two who prefer lying near me on the ground. Rest assured, your fur baby will be in good hands with me. I will make sure to text you photos throughout each day you are away, so that you can relax and focus on what you need to focus on while you are away. You can call me anytime to check up on them as well. I will make sure communication is easy. My focus is always on their peace and happiness and making sure all their needs are met. Looking forward to meeting you and taking good care of your sweet fur baby!! I am confident that you will be glad you hired me. This is my job that I take pride in, but I also enjoy it very much so it is of great pleasure for me to care for them. I will be sure to take care of your pets’ needs according to your specific instructions; so you don’t need to worry about a thing. Thank you for this opportunity! I look forward to meeting you and your very special pet on our first meet & greet visit which doesn’t take long… I recommend we do this before I begin watching your pet to make sure we are a good fit which I’m confident we will be. Please make sure to have all your pet vaccines and shots recent or up to date… Thank you!! Your favorite pet nanny!💖 Christine

Bodie loved staying with Christine! It was first class treatment all the way, with walks, play sessions with her Frenchie Kai, snuggle time, and dog TV. And I really loved how careful she is with safety (Bodie is a dasher) and the photo updates she sent. He will be back soon!

For boarding your dog at my house, i prefer to have a dog crate for them for night time if i have a few dogs I’m boarding. But if your dog prefers my bed or couch or one of the many dog beds lying around, that is fine too. But if you prefer to crate them you are welcome to bring a crate with you. But if you have one then please provide it for boarding. It’s the safest option if I had to run to the grocery store for an hour. especially if I have other pets boarding at my home at the same time. I will put a sticker on each crate with each dog’s name on them so that no other dog is using your dogs crate. Also I prefer each pet owner provide dog food since each dog is different and has a different diet. And again, I will label each dog’s food so that no other dog will be eating your dog’s food. The one thing I will emphasize is your pet will always be given the best care and love and the best supervision combined with a lot of snuggles, praise and nurturing to make sure they are always content. I will always have my eyes on them and be near them. And the longest I will ever be gone from them if I leave my house Is an hour. I would never leave them longer than that and most days I will be home 24/7 unless I am walking them to the park. It’s important to me that I can establish a relationship with your dog so that he or she is very comfortable with me. I think your dog will love having me as their new friend and they will be very comfortable with me.

Information Christine L. would like to know about your pet

Hi. My goals here are to make your life easier by providing you ease in your decision to choose me as your pet nanny. So to achieve this we both need to simplify the process with proper planning and preparation. So please let me know if your pet has any special needs before we meet in person; so that i can accommodate your fur baby and have everything ready for when you arrive. Please make sure your pets are recently up to date on their shots and vaccines and provide me paperwork if you have it..thank you! Please provide that information along with two emergency phone numbers at our meet & greet meeting we schedule before a booking. I will always follow your instructions with their medications and their diet to a T. I will always keep you in the loop with updates throughout the day via text or photos. If you are too busy to respond that is fine, but I will send them for your convenience regardless. Before I take your pet to babysit on my own, I think it’s important that I sit with your pet for a half hour prior to you dropping your pet off. Your pet can stay with me for boarding or day care right after our initial half our meeting. This way your pet will feel calmer after we get a chance to bond while you’re in the same room…so your fur baby will feel safe with me after you leave. If you can provide me with an emergency contact number, that would be used only in a dire situation which I hope to never have a need for. Maybe Your phone number and the name and address of your pet’s vetinarian. If you have a car seat or a pet crate or both, please bring that with you. Also, please do not forget to give me your pets collar and if you have his tags on it, even better.. I have plenty of leashes. I have plenty of pet toys, beds, treats and healthy bone chews…and I will provide constant reassurance and love and send you photos of them throughout the day.

A typical day

I love to do exercise daily with the dogs; whether it’s long walks or playing fetch dogs make it so fun. I also have a gate protected pool. But if your dog prefers swimming, he can use my clean pool too if he likes..and he will never use it without my supervision and the pool gate will remain locked 24/7. I like to challenge them by stimulating their mind with plenty of doggie games and treats for reinforcement. I have a beach 7 minutes away and walking dogs along the shore seems to be very interesting to them. I think they really enjoy walking and exploring along the shore. Other dogs are there because it’s a dog beach. However, I don’t do that very long and I never take them to the beach if its too hot outside.. i only go to the beach once in awhile.. most of the time I will take them for walks in my beautiful neighborhood. I will always have your dog wearing a dog collar, a leash and I will bring doggie dootie bags along with fresh bottled water and a travel bowl for them to drink. If I want to change it up so they don’t get bored, I will bring your dog to the park in my neighborhood. Here they love to run around and play fetch with me with their ball. But I won’t do any excursions without your permission and either way, I would want to get to know your dog’s personality first before going on any excursions. This will help me understand the pets’ needs and accomodate the pets I watch according to their personality. I.E. if a dog I watch is a senior, going to the beach or dog park may be too much for the dog. So I will be careful to schedule according to their individual needs.

I am currently available at home 7 days a week. I am not working at any job away from home. I own some properties that I lease and that is how I make money with investments. So I have plenty of time to take care of your pet(s) to love and play with them. I am just recently getting started with Rover to full time. I have however been pet sitting for some time here and there for several people. Since I am new to Rover, I don’t have a lot of testimonials yet; but I’m sure I will once I start booking appointments. And I’m confident they will all be positive reviews.
