My first experience was when my family and I adopted a puppy when I was 7 - I truly had no idea how she would've impacted my life - she was my absolute best friend, my teacher in life, and my biggest confidant. We truly don't deserve dogs. They give us so much and only expect love in return. Since then I've taken in the most beautiful rescues with heartbreaking pasts. I've had experience caring for special needs (especially CKD), mothers, newborns, and trauma. My dog, Frida, was one of the newborns we found while I was an expat in rural China. I've raised her since birth so she's quite literally my baby - daily cooked meals, sleeps on a memory foam pillow with us every night, sits on my lap while I work from home, comes with me everywhere including vacations, and has her own chair at the dinner table. I think all dogs deserve to be loved, protected, and happy. Your dog will be part of my family while you're away. I work from home so you'll get updates with pictures and videos throughout the day. They'll have access to the bed (during the day), couch, clean cold filtered water, treats, food and cuddles. Just let me know if there's anything else I can do to be accommodating including walking or hiking.
