Where your dog is family!
Pet care experience
It's been a while since I've updated my profile, so I figured I'd share the latest news with you. We are now in Riva, just off of the South River. There are tons of dogs in our little community and you will frequently see people out and about walking their dogs. We are no exception! We love to go for walks out in the neighborhood as a family and parade our pups and their friends through it! It's fun to watch the pups learn social cues from each other and fall right in line with the others! :) I have also been in grooming school for the past year, and have recently started a pet aestitician program. I have learned so much in a short amount of time - proper brushing techniques and tools, proper bathing techniques, the best products to use, and the needs of all the different coat types. I am excited to get my grooming and skin care business up and running soon! I have also taken advantage of my time home due to Covid and completed many online courses. I love learning about dogs! I am trained in pet first aid and it is my goal to keep your pet happy and safe while they are with us. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pet with a stranger, so I always try and send plenty of pictures and updates to ease your worries. Unfortunately, I am no longer offering walks or in home visits due to my current schedule. We've had so many boarding requests lately so I need to be here with all the pups to make sure they're behaving! :) Update 7/13/20 - I am now living in Riva! We still have a fenced in yard and are a stone's throw from the South River, for those dogs that like the water! Feel free to reach out with any questions! Update 2/18/20 - I will soon be moving from Davidsonville to Riva - less than 6 miles from my current home. I will continue to offer the following services - walking, daycare, boarding, and drop-ins. I will also be offering optional baths and transportation to my list of services. I cater to each family's individual needs, so please don't hesitate to ask if you or your pet needs something! :) I have been providing my services through Rover for over a year now and I have loved every minute of it! I cannot begin to tell you how much joy I get from being around dogs - they have helped me through some very difficult times and I simply love meeting new dogs and taking care of them. I always strive to take care of someone else's dog the way that I would want my dog taken care of in their care - with love, compassion, patience, and understanding. Your dog truly will become part of my family while in my care. Over the past year, we've had many dogs board with us. We've taken some of them on day trips with us, and we've let some of them sleep in our beds. It all depends on how your dog takes to our family - we cater to each dog's personality and needs. I will provide you with updates and photos during boardings, as I know how nervewracking it can be to leave your beloved pet with a stranger. I get it. So I do everything in my power to make you feel at ease. You can trust me to take excellent care of your dog! I have been around dogs my entire life. We always had dogs in the house when I was young and I have had at least one dog my entire adult life (I now have three). Our dogs sleep with us, travel with us, and take family photos with us. There is nothing like coming home to a pet that is always happy to see you and never runs out of kisses! In my younger days I worked at 2 different kennels - one that bred Labrador Retrievers and one that bred Chesapeake Retrievers. I was trusted with keys at an early age and was responsible for feeding, exercising, bathing, cleaning the runs, and socializing puppies. I have volunteered at a shelter and I have been a house sitter for various friends. My brother was an animal control officer for 14 years and my sister-in-law is a veterinarian. I've learned a lot about dogs (and animals in general) along the way. In my lifetime, I have personally had a yellow lab, chocolate lab, beagle, rottweiller, shetland sheepdog, shih-tzu and several mixed breeds. They each have their own unique personality and I love getting to know their little quirks. I'm happy to play tug of war, fetch, give a belly rub, take a walk, or just snuggle with any dog! If you need help caring for your dog, you can count on me! I live less than 6 miles from Six Flags, 11 miles from the Naval Academy, and 20 miles from Washington DC. You are invited to leave your dog with me while you sightsee in the Annapolos/DC/Baltimore area! All of our dogs are up to date on their shots and would love to have a playmate for the day! Please contact me with any questions you have. I want to make sure you are comfortable leaving your pet with me so you can enjoy your time in the area. I am working from home, so I am always here with your pups. We go on several walks throughout the day and play inside with toys and bones. On most days, it's like doggie wrestlemania in the house during the day! Your pup will definitely get plenty of exercise (and love!) while here! :) Your pet becomes part of our family while here. They are allowed on the couch and we have a big basket of toys and bones to share! There are several dog beds in the house, and fresh water is always available (until bedtime). We love lounging around with the pups watching movies, and we are always keeping an eye on them to make sure everyone is safe and getting along. We have a crate, if needed as well.
Reviews
Christine did an excellent job taking care of our dog. Our dog seemed to enjoy the stay and we enjoyed the pictures and updates. I will use Christine's services again.
This was our first time using roger and our first time our 11 month pup stayed away overnight without us. Staying with Christine couldn’t have been a better experience. She was so good with the dog and was very understanding. A K9 household that I would recommend anyone to stay with. Thanks again Christine!!
Christine was fabulous! This was our first time leaving our fairly young puppy, and she made me feel completely at ease. We had a great meet and greet with her dogs ahead of time so I knew what to expect and I got pictures and updates throughout Finley's stay. When we came to pick him up he barely wanted to leave. I highly recommend, and would definitely have him stay here again.
Christine is awesome! Lily felt right at home, and we felt completely at ease leaving her in Christine’s care. We would definitely call Christine again if we need a dog sitter!

No breed preferences, but I would like to know if your dog is up to date on vaccinations, if s/he knows any commands, if there are any aggression issues, favorite toys, things to watch for, etc. All dogs have their own little quirks, so don't be afraid to share yours - it's what makes each dog special!
