**Please note: I cannot confirm any boarding or daycare bookings without a meet & greet first!** I’m a full-time novelist who lives with the ghosts of one excellent collie-shepherd mix and two tabby cats. Available from 9 to 5 (flexible) and overnight. Your dog will enjoy lots of love and walks around Ghent, plus the safety of an enclosed urban garden in warmer months — please note this is not a yard per se, so if your pup loves to play fetch, we need to go to a dog park! I’m located near the Stockley Gardens and PETA parks. Previous experience includes boarding a boxer and a lab through “Dogs on Deployment” for two months in 2019 while their military owner was away, as well as a hound and a shepherd/boxer mix in 2020 for 4 1/2 months with the same organization. I grew up with cats and dogs, and have fostered (many!) Saluki strays while living in Abu Dhabi. My home in Ghent is equipped with doggie/child gates to block off stairs. I am currently enrolled in a dog-training program and have completed dog first-aid and CPR. At this time, I’m working through the basic training through positive methods course and am familiar with clicker training and loose-lead walking. I travel frequently in the winter months, and often travel for book promotion, but when I am in town, I’m home all the time and have a very flexible schedule. I do appreciate dogs who have basic obedience skills and who are house-trained! Also, I cannot consider any requests that do not include photos and details about the dog’s breed, habits, vaccinations, etc.
