Pet care experience
Working with animals is my passion. I have experience being around many different dog breeds and their personalities. I am comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and disabilities, once the dog feels comfortable with me. I got certified as a trainer 10 years ago but never put it to professional use but am knowledgeable about dog body language which has helped my family with their pets. I am hoping to get accepted in a vet tech program to further my knowledge of helping animals.
Reviews
I only have good things to say about Christina watching my dogs. I had her watch my 2 dogs and a puppy for a week. I liked how she came over to visit my dogs multiple times before I left to make sure they were comfortable with her. My elderly dog can be very particular with people but after her second visit she seemed to be semi-comfortable with Christina and she assured me that she would be contact me if anything happened. Thankfully everything was good and I didn't need to send my elderly dog to my family member. I got plenty of photos and videos of my two younger dogs playing. Coming home my dogs were where they should be with the puppy in her crate. I did find a living room sculpture broken, but when I looked back on the camera I found a dog broke it after Christina left my house. If I didn't move out of my area I would have definitely hired Christina to pet sit again.
I was very happy when Christina was watching my dogs. I knew I could relax and enjoy my vacation without having to worry about them. It took my one dog a couple visits for her ti get use to Christina but she was very patient with her and never pushed her over her boundaries. She would always keep me updated and she let me know that one of my dogs had an accident in the house, because he wouldn't let her take him out (this was in the beginning of the visits). Over time he got use to Christina and loved when she came by to take him for walks and play with him.
My time working with Christina at a dog kennel showed me how much she cares for animals. She is very responsible in knowing what dogs she is able to handle. Even though she looks small I have seen her walk breeds like Cane Corso's and Irish Wolfhounds all depending on the dogs temperament. She cared for all the dogs and cats at the kennel like her own. I remember there was one dog so nervous that he wouldn't come out of the his run for anyone. Christina wanted to try to get him out and succeeded after sitting with the dog for a few minutes and gaining his trust. While working at the kennel we learned dog CPR and first aid which helped a lot with some happy tail incidents.

Safety, trust & environment
I consider myself a very cautious owner/caretaker. I am always watching dogs to make sure they are safe, either from themselves or others. If you do not have a fenced in yard, your dog will always be on a long line when outside. I do this for their safety since some dogs will not obey anyone but their owners.
Information Christina S. would like to know about your pet
Letting me know if your dog(s) has any special needs or behaviors allows me to care for them properly. Knowing if they are reactive to dog(s) or humans allows me to know that I have to be cautious when on walks. Also, knowing any medical needs is a must to keep them safe and healthy. If your dog(s) are allergic to anything food or environmental is also good for me to know to keep them safe.
A typical day
I try to give dogs the same schedule they had when the owner is home to reduce their stress. While I am there I will plan activities according to what the dog(s) enjoy. We will go for walks, play in the yard, and even do some training to keep them mentally stimulated.
