Animal Lover Inside & Out

Pet care experience

My love for animals has always ran deep for as long as I can remember. We had various pets growing up, but picking a favorite would be impossible. They all brought their own little special memories, no matter how short a time they stayed. The longest was my dog Toby, a beagle-basset hound mix, that my grandpa got for me and my siblings when I was 12. After my parents divorced, he stayed with my dad and brother until I was 19. Since then, I have worked for a number of families caring for different types of dogs and cats, both in my home and in theirs. I've taken care of elderly pets who needed special assistance, as well as high energy jumping beans whose concept of "sit" only lasts a few seconds. I've walked dogs as big as twice my size to as small as my foot. As far as my own pets now, I have an American shorthair cat, Leroy, who is by my side every moment he can get. He's one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet and has never given any issues with people or animals. At default, I am caring and cautious with every animal I encounter and have a few experiences that put me in the running to be a Disney Princess (haha). If necessary, I can be stern for pets still in training that just need a good finger wagging every now and then. I understand a dog or cat or any home animal is more than a pet, it's a best friend, a confidante, or even a saving grace. I know my experience as well as my kindness towards animals will not only put your mind at ease, but also put your pet at peace as they await your return.

Christina is such a great sitter! We’ve used her a few times now and she’s reliably punctual, communicative, and caring. Highly recommend!

Wow, Christina was an amazing sitter! She was at our homestead for a week and watched our puppy and backyard ducks. She went above and beyond dealing with a few things that came up: water bowl freezing, an important FedEx package that got delayed, and our dog pouncing on a garden mole! We got 3 daily updates each day like clockwork and came back to a spotless house and very happy animals! We’re so glad we found Christina and she’ll definitely be our go-to whenever we need someone!

15/10 I HIGHLY recommend Christina!! I'm a nervous dog mom and I know it. Christina sent pics and updates and I didn't worry about my doggo at all! I missed her terribly, but knew she was in great hands! When I got home, my doggo greeted me, but sat next to Christina as we were chatting. I know she felt safe and loved while I was away and that's what really matters. I'm definitely going to be booking Christina again!!!

HOUSESITTING: If you'd like housesitting for your pet, I take it extra seriously. Not only are you entrusting me with your pet, but also your home, and everything I do is to make sure you are comfortable knowing both are looked after to the best of my ability. I don't take the responsibility lightly and I make sure every home that I watch is left the same if not better than when I arrived. I am also Pet Care Insured so in the event something unforeseen were to happen, rest assured it will be taken care of. You'll get at least two pictures each day of your pet (morning and night) with a little summary of the main mood of how things are going ("indoor snuggle time," "a great outdoorsy day," etc). You'll be notified with any issue, big or small, and kept up to date on changes should there be a problem. I have watched sick and frail pets before and kept owners in the loop with changes in potty patterns and energy levels. All in all, your pet will be loved and cherished throughout their watch. ***Please note- housesitting consists of up to three 30-45 minute drop-ins to feed, walk, and play as well as staying overnight with your pet. I rarely leave when housesitting, but just in case I have errands to run or an appointment to get too, I need to know for how long a pet can be left alone. **Pets that need a smidge extra care for medical needs, mild separation anxiety, need more than the standard 2-3 visits, or are untrained/have behavioral issues will require an extra $30/day fee to accommodate for care required for your pet. ***FOR HOUSESITTING STAYS A WEEK OR LONGER: I offer standard house cleaning services that include: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, bathroom/kitchen clean-up, and laundry (if you have your own washer/dryer) for an added fee. *** CONSTANT CARE HOUSESITTING: For an extra special care pet (i.e. high medical needs, cannot be left and needs constant supervision, elderly accommodation, severe separation anxiety), the fee for housesitting that individual pet will be twice the regular rate to compensate for time in round the clock extra care and loss of additional work, as I make these clients top priority and block out my calendar so I do not take on any other clients or appointments during the sitting dates. Your pet will have my full attention to their needs and updates will be as constant as you’d like. I have years of experience caring for special needs pets that need constant supervision due to medical issues and anxiety. I understand how uneasy it is to leave them behind and not know what is happening with them, so however many updates you need from me, let me know. You and your pet's comfort are my top priority. DROP-INS AND WALKS: I treat drop-ins and walks as a fun visit from a friend for your pet. Whether we're walking the neighborhood or hanging out in the living room, your pet will have the physical and mental exercise they need to calm their energy through the day. Approved treats will be given and they'll be cleaned up after and cuddled to their heart's desire. Pets will NEVER be off-leash to ensure safety. BOARDING AND DAYCARE: My home is full of warmth and love and my husband and kids treat every animal as if they're part of our family. We have a fenced in yard to play in and a comfy couch to watch movies and come down for the night. My husband is active in playing with the animals, while my daughters and I love cuddling and babying them. My cat, Leroy, is incredibly sweet and has been around other animals without issue, often seen wanting to be friends but keeping a distance first to make sure everyone is comfortable. Animals are allowed on the couches, beds, and will have their own special corner to relax in if they wish.

Information Christina G. would like to know about your pet

I need to know whether a pet is untrained or aggressive, has medical needs, or has separation anxiety. Also please let know if your pet has a special diet (cooked food, certain habits of eating, etc), if they are food motivated, how long they can be left alone, and if they are a puller on walks. I look at myself as a temporary pet parent for your furbaby, so whatever will make it easier for you and your pet, let me know! Detailed print-outs on daily activities are always welcome but not necessary. ***If your pet needs round the clock constant care (high medical needs, elderly accommodation, young untrained puppies, severe separation anxiety, etc), the fee will be adjusted (x2 for overnight housesitting or drop-in hourly rates for in-home care) for that individual pet to compensate for the extra work involved in care. It also allows for me to block out my calendar for you, as I take these clients very seriously and do not take on any other clients or appointments during the sit dates so extra needs pets can have all my attention. ****The first Meet and Greet is always free unless you're out of my radius ($10 for gas) and each following Meet and Greet will require a 30/60 min Drop-In booking depending on you and your pets needs. I understand some pets require a little more warming up to a new person, so whatever will make you and your pet most comfortable, let me know!

A typical day

We're a very playful but relaxed family. Playing fetch or walking around the neighborhood would be something we'd do for fun and exercise. Our backyard has ample room to let out energy as well. There's also a playground nearby we go to with my daughters and taking nice trips in the car to dog friendly places has been something we have thought about doing if your pet likes adventure. I can offer a cozy home, medium fenced in yard, and an animal loving family that hopes to one day have a dog of their own to be a buddy to Leroy.

I am a freelancer and make my own hours so my schedule is pretty open to your needs. My husband and I do independent filmmaking and create our own as-needed routine that fluctuates depending on the project or any side jobs we take on. Usually, we have things scheduled months in advance so preparations can be made if needed, but more often than not, my schedule is pretty open to adjusting if necessary.
