Love all pets. Years of experience

Pet care experience

I absolutely adore and love dogs, but I also respect all dogs. I provide lots of love, safe and stimulating play time and walks. I’ll go for a hike with your dog! I have worked with police dogs and at a high end pet resort/cage free boarding facility, Highland Pet Resort, where we board various animals-dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, hamsters, Guinea pigs, etc. We also provide doggie daycare and do play group assessments/evaluations to see if A dog can successfully play (no dog aggressive) and match dogs with other dogs based on their play style, energy level, and temperament. We also provide grooming from a groomer with her own business, where I've helped her with challenging dogs and have asked her advice on grooming and such. I have grown up around dogs my entire life. I also have worked with dogs and cats for 10+ years in various settings. I have also taken care of, primarily pet sitting walks, play time, and feedings with active and retired police dogs over the last 10+ years. Often times their commands were in different languages (so civilians wouldn't know what commands were given) so I am flexible with learning new languages. I know how to give most meds including insulin shots and am accommodating to special needs whether it's feeding, excersizing, old age, medical, physical, or a dog or cat who just wants snuggles and cuddles! No dog to big or small. I'm pretty flexible, can work around my work schedule. I also have access to resources such as grooming, trainers, etc. This is my part time job, so on my days off from my main job i have more flexibility in the frequency of dropping by and walks. The days I walk I will drop by as close to the beginning of my shift (depending on when my shift is) and definitely immediately following my shift. For in homes/pet sitting I will be there right before when I have to be at my shift and immediately following my shift. I'm trained in pet (cats and dogs) first aid and CPR via the red Cross as of November 13, 2018! With me your pet will have fun and lots of love!

Christina provided excellent care for our cat Odin when we were away for 2 weeks. We hired her to come in twice a day to feed him, play, and grab our mail. She sent us pictures and updates every day, and you could tell that Odin was having a great time. When we came home she had taken the cans out to the recycling, his litter was clean and he had recently been brushed. Best of all we had a happy cat who had been well taken care of and it showed. Also worth noting is that throughout the hiring and care process she she has been very prompt with communication, responding within an hour (usually less) which is a quality that I appreciate. Definitely do not hesitate to hire Christina.

Just terrific! Felt that my dogs were very safe, comfortable, and cared for while we were away. Christina sent us pictures morning and evening of happy dogs. We are very grateful.

Regardless of it being house/pet sitting, drop ins, or walks, I always provide each animal with snuggles, lots of pets, play time. I always make sure that their water bowl is filled with water before leaving.

Information Christina E. would like to know about your pet

If they prefer men over females it vice versa. Toy and or food aggression If they're crated(cage) and if they have territorial/cage aggression. Also working for them to go into their kennel ( ex: "kennel up," "go to bed," etc) If they're fed in or near kennel. Treat and feeding schedule Allergies, medications or medical conditions such seizures. Any form of aggression. If they're nippy. If they're a nervous, shy dog. Any issues with loud noises such as fireworks, car backfires. If they're afraid of thunderstorms. If they prefer no sudden movements. Also if they pull during walks. If there's a specific way you prefer their harness (if they have a harness) put on and if their harness stays on Any specfic dietary needs, habits, restrictions, routines. If good with other people, kids (for when we go on walks in public). What their overall temperament is. Any history of bitting I'd also like an emergency contact in case of emergency and I can't get in touch with the owner. I would also like the vet name, location, and telephone number. Both for all services provide especially pet sitting. For emergency contact, please provide someone who is not traveling with you and is easily accessible in case of extreme emergencies and I cannot reach you (I am not banking on having any issues or emergencies, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and have back up!). Id like to have a mutually agreed plan set in place in case of emergency. No real preference to specific breeds. I know basic dog first aid.

A typical day

Play time. Fetch. Play with his/her favorite toy. Walks on rail trail, walk way over the Hudson. In the yard if that's their favorite place! I'll even provide cuddles and snuggles if that's more their style!
