I have had pets, mostly dogs and cats, for as long as I can remember. I grew up wanting to have a farm of my very own. Though I have yet to achieve that dream, I've spent the better half of my working career in the pet industry. Such jobs included working as a pet sitter, small animal department manager in a large retail setting, and being an assistant manager in a pet's hotel for two years. I have handled, cared for, and even fostered a variety of species including dogs, cats, snakes, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and fish. I have enjoyed learning and experiencing every minute, while getting to know the individual pets that I have cared for. I have administered medications to a variety of animals, as well as provided IV fluids to cats. I feel that I am fairly knowledgeable and understanding of animal behavior, which has come in handy more than once. To say that I love pets is an understatement, in many ways they are my life.
