Friendly Seattle animal-lovers
Pet care experience
My partner Brian and I raised our Border Collie / Lab mix Reggie from when he was 12 weeks old to 12 years old. Unfortunately, he passed away a year ago and we've really missed caring for and spending time with a furry friend. One of our main activities (with or without a dog) is to go on long walks around Seattle visiting parks and other green spaces, so taking care of others' dogs fits right into our routine. Reggie had some health challenges in the later part of his life so we are well-versed in senior care and the patience and love necessary to care for your senior pup. He was also a pretty anxious dog, so we have experience managing car anxiety and noise sensitivity. I (Christina) also grew up with 3+ cats in my childhood home and regularly take care of my sister's cats, so I am very experienced caring for cats (both young and senior) as well. I am confident administering medications and again, being patient with cats of all ages with special needs.
Reviews
Christina and Brian are great! I left Rosie with them overnight and didn’t once feel anxious. They sent plenty of pictures and updates and it was clear Rosie was having a great time. They’re both friendly and asked lots of questions. Rosie has special needs and they were very responsive and accommodating. Definitely will book with them again in the future!
Brian and Christina were great. They were very communicative and took Nanook for several walks over the two times they watched my boy this week. I’ll be contacting them again the next time I need doggy daycare in Seattle.
Jack was practically running over on his second day with Christina and Brian. He seems very happy here despite his separation anxiety. I was happy with the pictures and updates throughout the day.
lil' Jack had a relaxing stay with Christina and Brian, and I got lots of wonderful photos throughout the day - much appreciated!

Safety, trust & environment
We don't have any other pets in our 2-bedroom, spacious Seattle apartment. While we don't have outdoor space, we live right next to several parks and a college campus with a large walking path away from traffic. We have some construction happening outside our building at the moment, so there is sometimes noise from that during the day in case your animal has extreme noise sensitivity. We aren't very precious about our furniture, so animals will be allowed to freely roam and live in the space—if that is what you prefer—but we also are happy to use a crate if that's what is most comfortable for your animal.

Information Christina & Brian V. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time we would love to understand: - any reactive behavior your dog displays and how we can best accommodate your dog's unique needs - if your dog likes to meet other dogs while on leashed walks or if we should avoid other dogs when we're on walks - any dietary restrictions or habits - what commands or tricks your dog knows and how we should reward this behavior - any known health issues that we should keep an eye out for and your vet's contact information - any separation anxiety your dog has and how you best handle it - does your dog ride in the car (in case we want to go to a park further away or have to run an errand) and is there any car-specific behavior we should be aware of
A typical day
We only board one dog at a time so your dog will get LOTS of attention and love. We will go on walks through the Seattle University campus, Volunteer Park, or Interlaken Park, maybe sniffing 'hi' to other dogs we meet along the way (only if your dog is comfortable with leashed social interaction!). We will also have play time throughout the day, practicing tricks and of course having some yummy treats! We will also work on leash skills if your dog needs a little bit of help (we have plenty of experience with distractable leash-pullers!) but ultimately will take your lead on how you reward or correct behavior. We will be your dog's advocates while you are away!

My partner and I both work from home most days of the week with very flexible schedules so we are able to go on many walks throughout the day. We don't have many appointments or other scheduled engagements in mornings or evenings and our weekend schedules are typically very open and flexible. If we are pet-sitting or boarding an animal, our schedules will most likely revolve around that.
