Pet care experience

Hi there, I’m Christina! I’m a freelance writer with a very flexible schedule! My foremost goal is to help you and your pet according to your wishes and comfort! Does your pet have a certain route they like for walking? Are they picky about how, what, and when they eat? Just let me know! I know pets can be quirky and fussy sometimes, and I’m happy to accommodate (almost) all of it! The more I know, the better I can tailor my services to your pet's individual needs! I come from a family of dedicated pet owners, and I’ve had both dogs and cats my entire life, with roughly 20 years of being responsible for their care in the home. Additionally, I’ve pet-sat for neighbors for extended periods. I‘ve also only had dogs 50lbs or larger (the largest being ~130lbs), so I’m very comfortable with big babies despite my short stature! I'm very comfortable with puppies, too! Growing up, every dog we brought into our home was under six months of age, and their care was a large part of my childhood. At one point, my family had four dogs and two cats simultaneously! (The suburbs are great for some things.) For my part, my fiancé and I have two awesome pets-- a silver tabby cat named Mulder (yes, that one!) and an English Bulldog named Musubi. (Musubi is a sushi-like Hawaiian snack food made of teriyaki fried spam, rice, and seaweed-- and yes, in retrospect we probably should have called him Merlin instead of a name that requires constant explanation. Hindsight, and all that.) Mulder is such an angel that I can't take credit for how wonderful he is, he just came to us that way. But, because he had to have a flaw somewhere in all that perfection, he does have feline asthma, the treatment for which is two puffs off his daily maintenance inhaler, which he consents to only with the promise of Greenies to follow. (He always gets his Greenies. Always.) Musubi is a sweet, sleepy extrovert who loves every opportunity to meet new friends! He’s a smart little guy, very obedient and eager to please, and he knows a few basic commands, like Sit and Down and Find the Cheeseburger (his favorite toy) — although, he listens less the sillier he feels (gotta work on that!).

I can’t say enough positive things about Christina! This was the first time I used her and certainly won’t be the last! She took the time to make sure my dog was comfortable with her and even spent some extra time with her. It was obvious she wanted my pup (and I) to be comfortable with her! If you’re looking for a trustworthy, caring dog walker I would highly recommend Christina! She is amazing!

"I cannot say enough positive things about Christina's care for my husky/Shephard mix, Cyrus, while I was away for a week in Chicago for work. Outside of being prompt, personable and professional, she is incredibly patient and attentive, ensuring that my dog received all the love, play, and attention he needed. And he's NEEDY! Christina's dedication to his well-being was truly remarkable. It's clear that she has a genuine love for animals and will treat any pet in her care with the same level of kindness as if they were her own. I highly recommend Christina to anyone in need of a responsible and caring pet sitter, she's my first call anytime I need help with him now and it's been a huge relief to know he's well cared for when I have to be gone.

I am happy to follow the wishes of any client whose home I enter, provided it’s safe! My goal is always to be respectful of any space I enter to the best of my ability, and I understand that pets thrive with routines and clear instruction. My intent is to preserve their safety and peace of mind (and yours!) while your pet is in my care, and those needs should be tailored to each pet. All I ask is for a thorough primer on their care so that all of us will rest easily knowing they’re happy and secure with me!

A typical day

An ideal dog walk in Hampden, Baltimore would involve a relaxed stroll through the neighborhood streets, perhaps with a visit to a local park or trail. Your pup would have opportunities to explore, play, and socialize along the way, enjoying the sights and smells of this vibrant area. After a satisfying outing, you'd return home with a tired but content dog, ready for a well-deserved rest.
