Pet care experience
Im currently on leave from my very busy work life and have a lot of animal welfare and care experience. Ive worked the past 3 years in an animal shelter under various positions from basic kennel cleaning to shelter medical work in our Kitten NICU. Im very experienced handling both dogs and cats. I also have cared for many birds, small animals, exotics(ex: hedgehog), reptiles, special needs animals, medical needs animals, and i personally own two behavioral needs cats, and a blind cat. I am medically fluent in the basics such as Sub Q administration of medications and fluids, oral medication administration, and i am certified in animal first aide and CPR. I am also a State Certified Animal Control Officer out of New Jersey, have canine and feline behavioral attendance certificates, and i am an experienced vet assistant. I also spent a year working at an animal hospital which handled general practice, emergency services, specialty services, as well as exotic services.

Christie is caring, observant and reliable. My senior pup has several health issues and Christie always make sure she is comfortable and doing well before, during and after her walk. She is flexible with the amount of time my senior pup needs between a walk and mental enrichment. My pup also reports she is a pro at dispensing the beloved and highly sought after "good girl cookies"!
Christie is a very loving and deeply caring dog and animal lover. She has always put the needs of helping animals above her own and she has always given a motherly touch to those in her care. Human or animal. I would highly recommend her as a dog caregiver and I would trust her with my dogs any day!

I cannot accept pets in my home due to my personal animals at this time. I rent and i also am currently trying to acclimate a new cat who was abandoned to my other two cats.

I need to know if the dog has any medical conditions, medications, behavioral complications- is he/she dog aggressive, toy selective, guarding issues, etc.. More importantly i want you give me any information about the pet- reason being is that you are more likely to give me more than enough information for the pet so i can ensure adequate care. I also require emergency numbers/plans in place prior to in case of emergency
A typical day
I love to spend time directly with the animals i watch. For them hours go by a lot slower than they do for us so them getting as much person to animal contact as possible helps keep them social and happy. The happier an animal is the healthier they tend to stay and so i will cater to whatever the animal i watch wants(within owners limitations). I will spend copious amounts of time bringing the dogs for walks whether it be around the block a few times, to a park ( only if a positive space for animals), or even just for a decent length ride in the car- if the dog would like.

I have an open schedule therefore i can be very flexible. My boyfriend is my current means of transportation as i am not able to drive at this time so he usually accompanies me as well.
