25 Years of Animal Care Experience!
Pet care experience
As someone who has worked at pet stores, kennels, and a veterinary hospital in addition to regular pet sitting, caring for animals is second nature to me. My pet-sitting experience includes daily dog walking for owners who work long hours, multiple daily visits for travelers whose dogs do better at home rather than a kennel, and daily check-ins for puppies who need more frequent trips outdoors while they are house-breaking. As an animal-lover, I truly enjoy the time I get to spend with your pet while you work or vacation. I believe exercise, a predictable schedule and one-on-one care are key to your dog having a relaxing and anxiety-free separation from you. I'm completely dedicated to spending time with your pet when you aren't able to.
Reviews
Christie does a dog mama's heart good! She communicated clearly and was persistent in making sure our large dog was pooped before she left.(That's a big deal to me.) Thank you Christie! I haven't used Rover.com in years. So glad my family ran into you again 4 years after meeting you when Logan was just 8wks old!
Was on time and followed instructions, I didn't have a worry in the world leaving my 8 week old in her care. She sent pics and tuckered him out.
Christie took super care of our dog Chase. She was quick to respond to my request on Rover. Came by the house to meet Chase before she was to walk her and was willing to adjust her walking time. While caring for Chase she sent 2 photos. I think she is excellent and hope she is available the next time we need a dog sitter.

Safety, trust & environment
I tend to take the advice of the pet owner about their pet’s safety needs. They know their pet better than anyone. I always provide feedback if I notice anything unusual. For example: - Ginger seemed to be limping a bit on our walk today - Max didn’t have much of an appetite this morning - Echo grabbed something when she was in the back yard and ate it before I could see what it was - just giving you a heads up!
Information Christie H. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your dog, I would want to know any special circumstances or behaviors. For example: How does your dog react to other animals that may be encountered on a walk? Will your dog go potty in the rain? (Some won't!) Does your dog like to play ball or frisbee? Is he/she afraid of thunder? If so, does he/she require anti-anxiety meds before or during a storm? Does you dog have a certain "potty spot"? Does your dog take regular medication? Does your dog follow a special diet? Is your dog rewarded for a particular behavior with praise or a treat? Does your dog like children?
A typical day
I take cues from both the owner and the pet as to what they eant and need. Seniors often love just having a butt scratch or belly rub. Some dogs want to chase a ball as long as you’ll let them. Leash walks are fun for most. I have driven dogs that don’t have a fenced yard or sidewalks to the greenway for a good walk!
