Pet care experience
I love being with animals, my young grandsons and playing with art projects! I have had dogs and cats (and other critters) my entire life. I love walking, getting out in nature, spending time cuddling with animals and giving them special attention, and enjoying the affection they give in return. I have had many different kinds of dogs, from a greyhound, to mutts, all rescues in one form or another. I treasure the gifts they have given me, and as I do not have a dog or cat at the moment (for the first time in over 60 years), I am currently enjoying others' best pals. I am retired and feel that this is a real opportunity to indulge my love of animals, get to explore new neighborhoods and communities. Animals, my young grandsons and art are truly are the best things in life.

This is the second time Christie has taken care of our house and "crew". Our pets are happy to be able to stay home while we vacay and warmed right up to Christie, even our super skittish cat Missy. When we return the crew is happy, the house is in great shape, the plants are watered and we can rest and enjoy being back home. Thank you Christie!
Christie stayed at our house for the first time last weekend. She was very focused on taking care of our home and especially our two small dogs. Her communication with us was also excellent. Looking forward to having her again.
Christie was great! We had her for a two night overnight stay with our two cats. The house was in good shape, the plants were in good shape but most of all my two cats were happy. In the past we boarded them and it was a traumatic experience for all of us. Our cats are quite shy and the don't do well with changes. They warmed right up to Christie and got to stay in their home. We got a short holiday which we needed. Will definitely use Christie again and recommend her to anyone else.
Christie was the best pet sitter we have ever had an we cannot wait to use her again! Before we left she came over and asked great questions about our home and our pets. She was extremely professional and gave our two cats lots of attention. When we returned home from our trip we could tell our cats were much calmer and happier than when we’ve left them with other pet sitters in the past. She also left our home cleaner than before we left, and also took great care of our fish and plants. I would not hesitate using Christie again and cannot recommend her enough!

I like to spend a little time with the dog while the owner is there, so that I can observe and learn about them, find out what the dog's favorite activites, blankies or toys are, I love pretty much all breeds, love rescues, and I have to admit that greyhounds hold a very special place in my heart. It's very important that I know if there are any problem behaviors and how the owner deals with those issues, and that I have emergency contact/vet information should the dog become ill or injured.
A typical day
I like to walk through neighborhoods and parks; I love to cuddle, pet and brush, play, practice tricks or obedience tasks. Treats are a given, of course. I usually have an art project I bring with me and I like to FaceTime with my grandsons.

Availability
I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule. I travel to visit my grandsons several times a year but am generally available other than that. My preference is to care for pets in their own homes, I feel that they are happiest in their home environment.
