Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm, was involved with horses as a rider and farrier for 10 years, have always trained and owned dogs since I was a teen. I worked at the local SPCA and specifically walked/cared for the dogs, of all shapes and sizes, with differing needs and attitudes. I understand how hard it is to find someone you can trust, patience and trust is key for me in working with your pup, no matter the age. My own 5 year old sheepadoodle is THE LIGHT of my life and I've trained him fully since 10 weeks old. Please Note:

Christian went above and beyond in making my reactive Aussie comfortable and building up trust, and I really appreciated how much patience Christian showed! My Aussie is much more chill with them now, and we’re already booked for more visits and dog sitting! Christian is also meticulous in note taking and communicating, and making sure all the care tasks are performed the way my Aussie is used to.

*I require that owners have a sturdy harness and leash available for every walk to ensure the safety of your fur babie(s). *I will absolutely employ the training that you and your dog have worked on for every walk, but please note that I am not coming to work with any aggressive behaviors. My aim is to go on an easy going walk with your dog and wear them out so they are a happy pup when you get home!

-Please be aware, I do require a meet and greet before I can agree to work with you and your pup, it is a great time for both the dog and myself to get know each other! And a good time for you as the owner and myself to ask questions. -I want to know your dog's quirks before sitting him/her. I need to know what makes them comfortable and what typically frightens them. If there is any aggression or anxiety they have around other animals, people, places, please be honest with me upfront. -Can your dog be picked up? Touched? I've had to pick clients dogs up on multiple occasions as too often unfortunately other dogs can come out of nowhere, even on walks in town. This is a good way for me to protect your dog. -Do you need me to feed/water your dog during my visit? What should I expect your dog to do in terms of bathroom habits while I am there? Is your dog good in the rain? Can your dog handle the heat?
A typical day
We would go on walks in local parks near your home, through neighborhoods if accessible. It's important to me that your pup is exercised, happy and comfortable! Everyone has a different definition of what a 'walk' entails, for me it is walking your pet for as long as I can during those thirty min so that they are well worn out by the time we get back to your home. If that isn't what you need, then just let me know. Maybe it is 15 min of walk and then play inside your house, I will do whatever you are comfortable with.

Availability
*Rover only allows a same day cancellation policy, but I would ask that you do not cancel walk(s) same day unless under emergency or extreme weather issues. I would ask that you give me at least a weeks notice before cancelling so I have the opportunity to fill that slot.
