Pet care experience
Please ask me about my April discounts! I (Christi) have had German Shepherds and cats since I was born. I currently have 3 cats, 3 mice, a snake, and 2 German shepherds (who both love all animals!). Both of my dogs are rescues from abuse situations so I know how to handle rescues. I have volunteered with wildlife rescues (working with owls, foxes, cats, dogs, and more) and I worked with the Animal Law group at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Additionally, I have a lot of experience giving pets shots, pills, eye medications, ear medications, and topical medications too. I have worked extensively with both cats and dogs and am comfortable giving your pet any shots it may need (i.e. insulin shots for diabetes). I understand some people find it difficult to give cats pills, but I am not one of those people: I have a fair amount of experience giving pills to cats and dogs. My mom (Sara) is also a co-owner of this account and she has been background checked and approved by Rover so she will be able to do any visits that I am unable to do if something comes up. Please specify if you want to meet both of us at a meet and greet if I state she will be helping me with your booking. She is extremely experienced with animals and loves to rescue all types of snakes and other critters. She has three German Shepherds and has had multiple different kinds of dogs throughout her life. She also owns four different kinds of snakes. Her motto is that animals are better than people.

I want to make sure that I stick as close to your pets’ routines as possible to minimize any stress or anxiety they may have due to you being gone. I think it is important to try and maintain a sense of normalcy for the animals. I understand leaving your furry friends is stressful for the owner too, so I want you to feel as comfortable as possible with me. I strive to be a reliable sitter who you know will take care of your pets as if they were my own thereby helping to decrease any anxiety you may have about leaving your pet. Additionally, please ask me about my military, police, and first responder discounts!

Let me know if your pup has any special needs. My oldest dog has epilepsy and seizures, as well as frequent ear infections. My dog also requires a lot of medication (oral, ear drops, eye drops, etc.), so I am quite capable of taking care of any special needs dog and am able to give any medication your dog needs. I also need to know what your daily routine with your pup is normally and I will attempt to replicate and stay as close to it as possible when I am taking care of them. If there are any specific commands you want me to use, let me know.
A typical day
When I am taking care of your pup, we can go on short or long walks, depending on your pet’s needs. Whether your dog likes balls, bones, stuffed animals, frisbees, or anything else, I will make sure to play with them as frequently as you want me to. Plenty of pets for your pup is also a given: just let me know their favorite spot to get scratches! I personally take my dogs on hikes and to the beach whenever possible and I would love to do tons of fun things with your pup too!

Availability
I passed the bar exam, so I’m technically an attorney even though I only practiced for one year and don’t practice now. I am, however, recovering from brain surgery! Yay me! I spend all day with my animals or at rehab which means I have plenty of time throughout the day to come help you with yours! Please contact me directly for in my house dog or cat boarding/day care inquiries. ***Important: I will not accept bookings for dog walks that occur when it is dark outside. I apologize, but I am not comfortable walking dogs in the dark while by myself. Thank you for your understanding. ******Additionally, for every 3 miles extra that you live outside of my normal booking radius, I charge between $5-$7 extra on top of my normal booking fee, depending on the number of animals you are booking me for (this does not apply to those who have been previously grandfathered in and you should know who you are; if you are not sure, please ask.), due to the increase in gas, time, and distance necessary to reach your house. For example, a visit for two dogs that are 15 miles away from me (which is roughly 9-10 extra miles outside of my normal booking radius), will cost you my regular fee for two dogs plus $7 extra for every 3 miles added between my normal radius and your location, which equals $21 extra each visit on top of my normal fee; a single dog at the same distance would cost $15 extra per visit on top of my regular fee. If you are unsure of how this will affect you, or if you are confused, please do not hesitate to reach out and ask. For cats, the price will remain my regular cat fee plus an extra $5 for every 3 miles outside of my normal booking radius and the price will remain at $5 extra per visit for every 3 miles and will not change based on the number of cats you own up to three cats; four cats or more will cost my regular fee plus $7 for every 3 miles outside of my normal booking radius.
