Enriching, loving, fun environment

Pet care experience

I have owned & trained dogs for many years. I have just resigned from 10yrs of corporate life (yay!), and am now pursuing a new career with training dogs full time (yay!). I decided to offer my services on Rover while I take this next year to slowly start down this new path. I currently have 2 dogs of my own that love doggy visitors. Bucky a 14lbs super mutt, and Odin a 102lbs Belgian Malinois. They are best buds. I am training Odin in a sport called French Ring and he does Dock Diving as a hobby. Bucky specializes in bossing Odin around and chasing squirrels. I know dogs very well from puppies to seniors, and I want them to feel loved and safe when they are with me. I also want you to feel confident in the care and attention they are getting, as I understand the stress of having your dog be in the care of someone else. I encourage you to visit my home ahead of time, for all of us to meet. I will send as many daily updates and videos as you want.

I have known Christi for a decade and she is one of the most reliable and conscientious people I have ever known! She will take care of your pet as if it's her child, always putting their well being and safety first. Christi has a keen attention to detail, with which she will notice anything out of the ordinary as well as follow instructions to the letter. All of my animals (dogs, horses, goats, reptiles) have been in her care at one time or another and I always feel completely assured that they will be better than they were before her attention.

Christi will not only walk/watch your dog, she will love your dog. Each dog she spends time with, she grows an attachment for, that’s what makes her stand out (aside from her dog knowledge). The dogs seem to know they are in confident, and loving hands.

Christi has been doing a fantastic job making sure my dogs are cared for while I'm gone. They're always settled, content and happy when I return.

Christi is a GEM! She is one of the best people I have ever seen with animals and especially dogs! Christi is friendly, honest, forthright, fun, earnest and loyal. She is wonderful with dogs and really loves to work with and care for all kinds and personalities of dogs. Christi can work with dogs that are loving and friendly and she also likes to help with dogs that have issues too. She puts 100% in to her work and I truly appreciate her and her abilities!

Safety, trust & environment

My home and yard are very secure. I have double gates at every exit. Dogs all run free in my home and in the yard, while being closely monitored. If I do leave for a short time, I will crate or kennel the dogs for their own safety. I have a Furbo camera inside and multiple cameras outside that notify me of any activity, crying, or barking. I do not allow dogs left alone for more than a couple hours. I own a home with 2 units, and I rent the front unit to my retired mom (who also adores dogs), so she is always just a few seconds away should she be needed. I pride myself on being aware of how a dog is feeling and what they need. I want them to have low to no stress and feel secure in my care. This goes for visiting dogs as well as my own.

Information Christi B. would like to know about your pet

Although I always assess what a dog might be feeling in the moment, it is helpful to know your dog’s general personality when with you, likes and dislikes. Behaviors can change in a new environment, until they feel relaxed. Change can bring on stress for most and dogs are no exception. I want to make sure I do everything I can to have introductions as low-stress as possible. Allergies, medications, and/or diet.

A typical day

Guests can choose to play my with my dogs or relax when here. My home is air conditioned/heated, with continuous access to the yard. If dogs need a break from play, selected chews or treats can be enjoyed in a private crate space. Depending on what activities you want for your dog, we can walk around my neighborhood or travel to Lodi Lake, just a mile down the road. These walks can be 1:1 or as a group with my 2.
