*Use my code CHRISW71646 at check out for $20 your first booking!* A Little About Me: Hi! My name is Christiana (Christa) L. Wyneken Garcia. I grew up in Fresno with dogs, cats, lizards, fish, and a hamster. I received my BA in 2020 and am starting grad school in September '24. My husband and I moved to Ben Lomond last year where we help run a camp and retreat center. I’ve pet-sat and house-sat (plant care, picking up mail, other reasonable requests, etc.) for years for friends and neighbors either by just swinging by to feed and play with them, or staying with them. I’ve pet-sat for cats, dogs, and rabbits. Please reach out if you’re interested in having me walk, check-in, feed, and/or board your animal. Thank you!
Reviews
Christa is an absolute cat whisperer! We have a special needs cat (he is 12 years old and has insulin- dependent diabetes) who can be stressed and anxious when being cared for by new people. Christa took lots of time to observe Buster, spending time in our home and learning his routines. She is our "go- to" caregiver for him when we need to be away from home for longer periods of time. Christa did an outstanding job of feeding our working (feral) cats and caring for our chickens while we were away recently. Christa is responsible, reliable, and a great communicator with us humans, too. We highly recommend her to you and your furry family members.
Our most favorite dog walker! So communicative and accommodating. Our dog loves her!
My kitties love Christa. They're happy and relaxed when I get home. The pictures she sends me daily are wonderful. I know my pets are in good care with Christa!
Best dog walker ever!

Safety, trust & environment
I love and respect all animals! You can trust me to make the right decisions to ensure your pet’s safety and happiness while you’re out and about. If you need boarding- I prefer dogs under 40 lbs, but can accommodate large dogs as long as they are gentle and have basic training. I recently changed this because my house is relatively small (two bedroom) and I have two cats, so it's important I have some extra control. I have a mowed fenced-in backyard for your dog to let loose in. I would prefer to crate your dog at night or if I am away for a couple of hours because I'd like for my cats to be able to move around freely in their space. If your dog isn't crate trained, I can also keep them with a blanket, dog bed, and toys in my guest room or living room with a shut door. I will never leave your dog(s) with my cats unattended and I will never leave your dog for more than 4 hours during the day (I'm normally around but work in the mornings and do sometimes run errands in the afternoon) and 7-8 hours at night (I do like my sleep and don't sleep with dogs... but I can get up if they bark or whine. I'd hear them through my door!) Basically, I will adhere exactly to the schedule you give me and check on them exactly as you ask, plus probably a little more during the day. Since we work at a campsite, I would love to walk your dog around the camp. It’s a safe and quiet forest environment with lots of trails! I’m here to help you and your pet while you are away. Just let me know if you have other requests and I’ll try my best to accommodate.

Information Christa L. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your animal has specific behaviors or medical conditions I need to be aware of. I do have experience giving pills, supplements, injections, and subcutaneous fluid administration, but I like to be able to meet with you ahead of time to practice or at least talk through your animal's specific needs. I can be firm and confident for pets that need structure and correction, but I am not an animal behaviorist and am not comfortable with aggressive animals.
A typical day
I’ll make sure to give your pet lots of love and reassurance while you are away! If your dog stays with me, I’ll walk them around our property, play with their favorite toys, let them run around our fenced-in backyard, and hang out with me in the house! They will be like a family member for the duration of their stay. If I’m house-sitting, walking, or just checking in on your pet, I will make sure they are safe, care for them however you ask, and give them lots of reassurance and love while I'm with them. To me, house-sitting looks like staying at your home from after dinner time to the next morning around 8:30 a.m. If your pet needs something different (more potty breaks, walks, and attention etc.), you are welcome to request more time with me. Just remember that if you ask me to do more, I may need to be compensated a little more, too. Please know that I only take jobs that are over 10 miles away from me or for a duration of over a week by special request. This is because I am not reimbursed for miles and sometimes the roads (especially in the winter) can be rough. It can also be stressful for me to be gone from home for too long.
