Pampered Pooches with Room to Roam!

Pet care experience

The Short: Your pups will be distracted from missing you while they're being showered with love, attention, belly rubs and yard time 24/7. Working full time from home this winter sets me apart from most other sitters! The Lengthy: Hi there! My name's Chris and I've been surrounded by pups my whole life (first word was "dog" if that tells you anything about me). My dog sitting skills run the full gamut, as I've taken care of everyone from Malteses to Mastiffs, French Bulldogs to Great Pyreneeses. I've bonded with Italian Greyhound puppies and looked after an aging Golden Retriever, who was my dearest friend for many years. My partner and I both work from home, ensuring that your pup won't be left alone for hours on end. We live on a fully fenced acre not far from Hyalite Canyon. We have a very sweet 1 year old terrier pup who would love to keep your dog company while at our house. We are extremely active and love being outdoors. When we're not strolling around our neighborhood and the park, we hop in our very dog friendly Subaru and head to the foothills/mountains to hike. If this is something you would like us to do with your dog, just let us know!

I think the time spent with my dogs went ok..... I mean how can you ever really know? But to my knowledge she took good care of my dogs. My negative feedback is based on my email communication with her. I merely asked her how the stay went and her feedback was.... too much. She complained about them, gave me her psychoanalysis of them and unsolicited advice about how I should train them. The feedback went beyond her scope as a sitter, was full of assumptions and opinions. I thought I was hiring someone to feed, potty and play with them.... not a dog whispering Cesar Milan. Too much. I expected her to say the stay went well, they were hyper and yippy but had a fun time together. I wrote her back to say that ya they're not perfect but their FINE and btw they've been in tons of training and you don't know what you're talking about. To conclude this puppy sitter telenovela, let me leave with a quote of her personally attacking me "I see now that your main concern lies with your self image as a dog owner. I wish you the best of luck with the continued training of your furry children." Now there's a professional you want to be working with!

Chris was great! Extremely communicative and flexible. I had trips on either side of the weekend she had my dog so I had to get two different people to drop him off and pick him up for me, and she was very understanding and easy going about it. She sent several pictures and updates, I felt very comfortable leaving Cooper with her. She's clearly a dog lover :)

Since we had never boarded our puppy, we were very nervous about leaving our little one. But, Chris took great care of our 5-month old puppy for the weekend. She sent pictures and texts to keep us updated. And, she was extremely accommodating regarding my last-minute change to a pick-up time. We were able to enjoy our getaway knowing that our pup was getting lots of attention, walks, and snuggles. Would definitely recommend and use Chris again!

Dogs are always right by me when I watch them in my home. They can have full access to the house and all of our furniture has pup friendly blankets on it if they like to snuggle. If we have to step out. We can either gate them into a smaller area of the house or crate them if your dog is crate trained.

Information Chris S. would like to know about your pet

At this time, I am not able to watch puppies under 1 year of age. I apologize for the inconvenience! I would like to know about: 1. Your dog's temperament/personality around other dogs 2. Leash etiquette--Do they tend to pull while on leash or stalk/leap towards squirrels and other dogs? Can they meet other dogs on leash? 3. House etiquette-- Do they like chewing on things like leather shoes or socks? Do they tend to bark inside? 4. Commands-- It would be helpful to know which commands your pup knows 5. Home alone behavior-- If I have to step out for an hour or two, does your pup have anxiety issues? Do they bark or whine at the door? Are they completely crate trained? Anything else you think I should know about them would be appreciated!

A typical day

Your pup will be able to take long strolls around the neighborhood and park, romp around our large fenced yard, or go for hikes further outside of town if you'd like.
