Got Rover? In a pickle? We got’cha!

Pet care experience

Allow me to be your dog’s home away from home. After all, my dog allows me to live in his home, and he shares 😉

Chris's hidden canine respite was fantastic for Garth. We were from out of town vacationing and wanted to go into the bigger town, but didn't want to overwhelm our buddy. We had trouble finding someone in lexington so looked a little further out and Chris was kinda enough to switch around their schedule for him. Chris was very communicative between booking (a pre-visit phone call to go over needs/behaviors/current canine buddies), showing up(gps did not want to give directions but Chris got us coordinates and a convenient Google link from our place to theirs to follow), during Garth's day, and was flexible when circumstances changed and we called to come early and pick him up. Their dog Gumption was a hoot, and hearing about Garth's day with the foster Hero there was heartwarming. Chris does a very good job making you feel comfortable and confident in leaving your Canine friend in their care. Very worth booking, and looking into a longer stay when we have to head through the area to my sister's wedding next summer.

Chris was a life saver! Athena loved Chris so much and enjoyed her time hanging out with Chris for a week. Chris even had to take care of Athena AND her 7 puppies!! I loved getting updates and pictures while I was on vacation. I couldn't have asked for a better person to care for Athena. I knew she was in good hands.

My yard is fenced in, fairly large, with a mountain behind it. I live in the country, spending most of my down time in the hammock in the backyard with my goof-ball. Gumption goes where I go, as would your dog. I have a doggie door that’s accessible throughout the day and closed when we all go to sleep. The yard is shaded, the deck is lined with outdoor beds for basking in the sun as well. A kiddie pool is available on hot days or the can lounge in the A/C with me or in front of the wood stove on cold days. I have a extra-large crate and a medium crate, that can be used by your pet or mine, or not at all. They can sleep wherever you’d prefer. If on the rare circumstance I have to leave for a short period, I can secure your dog any way you see fit. I have security cameras and can monitor their behaviors. **Campers** I’m available to transport your pet to and from my house with-in a negotiated range. Especially helpful if camping in the area, and want to go straight to set-up.

Information Chris J. would like to know about your pet

I can accommodate most special need requests, including convalescing, medications, butt scratches and ear rubs. I even have a ramp to enter the yard and house if needed.

A typical day

I have games and puzzles to drain some mental and physical energy. I’m familiar with all types of training, training tools, positive reinforcement praise and treats. I’m an expert in couch and cuddle patrol with Netflix in the background as well. Lots of space and smells to take walks on and a large fenced in area to run, jump, chill and “patrol”.

Availability

Most times I’m home 24/7. I’m a retired paramedic and travel sporadically for work. It’s then that I use Rover myself. Therefor, I have empathy for the anxiety associated with leaving your pup in the care of someone else. I’ll treat your part of the family as if it were mine. Just like I’d want my treated.
