Professional pet caretaker

Pet care experience

Thank you for clicking on my profile! All pets will be spoiled with ear massages and belly scratches. I take this job very seriously and understand that your pets are the same as your children. I understand that you want to have complete trust in the person caring for your pet. I assure you that I treat every home and pet with the upmost respect and privacy. My verified reviews from past clients will prove this. All walks are photographed and updates are sent to the owner after the walk is completed. A typical housesit will include: Breakfast with a 30 min, a pee break at mid-day and dinner with an evening walk. I look forward to meeting your furry children and treating them as if they were my own!

This was the second time Chris watched our Marsy, and he was so wonderful with her. Such a good feeling knowing your pups are taken care of and in good hands while you are away. Thank you!

I am extremely unhappy with my experience in booking Chris to house-sit and watch my dog. If you choose to book him to house-sit, I suggest you make sure you have cameras in your home to check while you're away. I was shocked to run into so many issues with him because he has such good reviews, but while Chris seemed nice enough at first, it's clear he is juggling too much to give your dog the attention you are paying for, and is not very professional. To summarize- He fed my dog twice as much as instructed- and the instructions were very clear if he had just taken a minute to read them. My dog has an extremely sensitive stomach, which means she's on a more expensive brand that costs $7 a day normally. He went through $14 of food for five days in a row because of his inability to follow instructions and my dog's bowel movements were not right- her stomach had clearly been upset. But, slight bother. I could've lived with this as it was ultimately just a mistake and I probably would've booked with him again. While I was away, I checked my camera and was also a bit bothered to see the lights were left on the ENTIRE time- throughout every night. I also noticed the door to go outside for my dog to relieve herself was left open the entire stay (something I asked him to do only if he would be out for 4 or more hours during the day). Still, a slight annoyance, but I mentioned the lights to him yesterday (the day after I came home) after he told me he slept on the couch- I said it didn't seem like he had slept there at all since the lights were always on and that's when he told me he DID NOT stay for all five nights that I booked him. He claims he missed two, though I really wonder if that's even true at this point given the lights were always on and the door always propped open. He said he missed two because he 'overbooked' and agreed to walk another dog- making the drive back to my place too far. He said he "made sure to check in with her and feed her and of course play with her"- but I didn't pay for check-ins, I paid for overnight care. To top it all off, I needed to get my spare keys back from him shortly after he told me this, and not only did I get half-sincere apologies, I also got asked out to dinner! Despite my clear concern with him in general, he persistently tried to get me to take a ride with him on his bike, even though I expressed I was not interested several times, and when that wasn't working he asked me to dinner. When I stayed on the issue of him not staying with my dog, he reminded me that he offered to pay for her litter (she went through more than usual because she was being fed twice as much). I'm not interested in that- but some professionalism (ie. not hitting on me while I'm expressing reasonable concerns at the service provided.. or lack thereof), and refunding me for the nights he did not do the service I paid for, would've gone a long way. He has not offered a refund on the nights he did not stay. Instead, when I eventually walked away he revved his bike extremely loudly in my garage and sped off- I did not hear from him after. As disappointed as I am with the situation, I wasn't sure I was going to write this review- I figured I'd just contact Rover privately about a refund for those two nights & give him the benefit of the doubt. But after I came on here the next day to see he's nearly doubled his price from $50 a night, to $80, it seemed necessary to let prospective clients of his know that if you pay Chris $80 to stay in your home & take care of your dog, he very well may not. But hey, maybe he'll ask you out.

Chris is great. Our dog loves him, and he doesn’t love everybody. Our 7-month old can still be a challenge when out on walks, and Chris even gave suggestions and noted that he’d tire him out first with fetch in the back yard and then take him for a walk, and he was much more well-behaved. Chris knows what he is doing. We feel better when we are gone knowing our puppy is happy with Chris.

Chris did an excellent job with our menagerie, and we would recommend him highly. This was our first holiday in a while, and we have gained a few rescues that have kept us busy. Arranging Chris to pet-sit was a great choice. He dealt with our aging Golden Retriever, a rambunctious Husky, and cats: kudos on Chris. Not only do we recommend Chris, we hope to be able to book him again in the future.
