Former obedience trainer

Pet care experience

After many years of training, showing, and working at a kennel during my summer breaks. Ive learned and taught hundreds of dogs across 7 states. I've had 5 dogs of my own, over the course of my lifetime. All of which showed professionally and placed nationally. I'm not trying to train dogs to show anymore, but if you are interested in improving your pets behavior I can provide tips and tricks to make that process much more easy. Puppies, adolescents, elderly dogs are all welcome, I have experiences with almost every breed imaginable. Dogs are just like people, certain breeds have specific behavioral traits and personalities. That's key to any trainer, or walker. Hopefully I didn't bore anyone too much! Thanks for reading! Feel free to reach out anytime !

Chris was amazing. He was so good at communicating with us and keeping us updated on everything. He also takes amazing pictures! He was very responsive, kind and very knowledable on dogs. We have a difficult dog with some aggression issues and he handled it no problem. We felt very comfortable with him while we were away and he provided great care to our pets! We would recommend him to anyone

Well, I have to say I've known Chris a while, and I've always had an admiration for the amount of care and the level of observations he has with dogs. Chris is someone who I never knew had dogs, or was interested in dogs, then I heard from a mutual friend of ours that he has this extensive history with training dogs, difficult breeds, and problematic dogs. And immediately, I knew I had to ask him to come visit Mindi, shes my mothers dog, and Mindi is just mean, she was raised by my mother. We aren't sure why she is as mean as she was, but I convinced Chris to spend sometime with my mom and Mindi, within a few weeks we saw an improvement, but Mindi responded to him, I'm not sure if that is every dog but I think she just felt secure, or trusted him. Mindi is a Doberman Pinscher, she is maybe 115 pounds, which is very intimidating to a lot of people, but she never did the same aggressive behaviors towards other people, he would just let her get comfortable, and she would work with him. Anyway, we had him watch Mindi a few times, every time when she would come back, she would be relaxed, and listen very well. He has a system of training with the dogs, and I've seen his dogs off their leashes, in the backyard, and they are dogs, but when he wants to get their attention, they listen and focus. I think Fergie was the last dog he brought over, and she was a rescue who was in terrible shape when they got her, but the last time I saw her, she was a completely different, happy, healthy, spunky dog. I rambled on, but I would jump at the chance to get him to train my new puppy.

Hello! I actually lived next door to Christopher's parents, he was always showing dogs, and helping train other peoples dogs. My little Shelby, shes a husky german shepard, just the most stubborn thing. After a few weeks, of having Christopher walk her good and far, then maybe a 15-20 minutes of training, and she was so much more relaxed and calm. He also taught her how to be more aware for my sake, I'm not the youngest chicken in the coop anymore, but Shelby can help me get up and she will brace me if I lose my balance. Over the years, I think Christopher has spent a few months with Shelby, giving her the very specific care she needed to help me understand her needs. If dogs can talk Christopher listens very well. He also showed me a few massages for Shelby to help her calm down, she can be a little too enthusiastic on occasion. She will get all up and cozy for those massages, and just melt away anything keeping her all excited and antsy. I hope he can help you as well as he has helped my Shelby, she has become a very good companion.

Good afternoon, I appreciate you reaching out to us to write a review about our experience with Christopher G. My wife, Lisa, and I know Christopher personally, his family are close friends of ours. We had Christopher come over to train our Westies, Monique and Saffron, I think initially it was just a week, but we saw a drastic change in how they were behaving. We asked him to come back to train, but he was just in town visiting his mother. After a few months he came back to visit again, and we were able to set up a few times for training, and our little Saffron has become a much more obedient and nice pet.

Information Chris G. would like to know about your pet

I'd love to get to know new dogs before our interactions without their owners! I feel like that can be really conducive to trust, because again, caring for dogs isn't just about walking them, but also about helping them to trust us so that we both can have a fun experience together. All breeds are welcome, I've trained hundreds of dogs at this point and I haven't met one I have disdain for, other than Beagles, but I'd love to meet one who can change my perspective on those mischievous little hellions!

A typical day

Walks will be dependent on the environment. I'd love suggestions from owners, my dogs have had very specific routines that allowed them to do their business quickly so that we can get on to the fun stuff. Like going to dog parks, exploring the local parks that allow dogs. But also, if the owners would allow, time spent training as well, because the things we train our dogs now help us to help them later on in life, when they can't see, or hear because of breed predispositions or just general aging. Brief training sessions can boost mental activity of animals who are becoming elderly. While it may not seem like much, it can really improve the life your dog lives as they become older.
