WFH experienced dog & horse trainer

Pet care experience

Hello, I'm Chris, and I work from home! I grew up ranching cattle, riding horses, and training dogs on a farm in Oregon. While cows, horses, and dogs were our main animals, I have experience caring for everything from house plants, to ducks, sheep, and pigs! Now that I've made a career for myself in the city, I long for every minute of dog activity that I get! I am a dedicated animal lover and have a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog named Duke. He's a ball of energy but luckily knows how to plop down on the couch and take a nap with us if needed. He's a sweet and loving boy, is submissive to other dogs, and loves to play tug, frisbee, and fetch. He'll likely be indifferent towards your pets (good with cats and other dogs) for the first few visits but will develop a playful bond with them after a day or two. ABOUT OUR HOME: We live in a very tidy houseplant haven about a block away from Gasworks Park, and use it as our local dog-run. Duke plays off-leash here, but I'll keep your pets on-leash if preferred. For longer stays, we'll even take your pup to the Lower Woodland Off-Leash Area (with your permission, of course) for some socialization and romp time. We'll even take your dogs on runs over the weekend if you provide a harness! HOUSE RULES: Duke sleeps in his crate, but your pet is welcome to roam if you prefer. Duke is only allowed on beds and furniture if invited, but we welcome animals who are used to having free-reign over the house. As I'm on video calls for a large part of the day please notify me if your dog isn't potty trained, barks excessively, or is destructive so that I can make arrangements to accommodate their needs.

Chris was really responsive and communicative, asking good questions about my dog's needs and behavior, and sending me several photo updates while my dog was with him. My dog came home happy and well cared for. Definitely recommend!

My pup Murphy is usually pretty shy and takes some time to trust a new sitter, but he hit it off with Chris and Duke right away! Chris was great about sending updates, which is always comforting with a dog who has some separation anxiety. When I picked my boy up he was more interested in staying to play, a great sign! We will be scheduling more bookings with chris soon!

Chris is a dependable, caring and thoughtful individual, and he demonstrates those characteristics to both people and animals alike. Chris has taken care of our dog on multiple occasions, and he goes above and beyond the call of duty every time. Your pooch is in great hands with Chris!

Chris is a life-long animal lover. He grew up raising and riding horses with his family and has always had a dog in his life. He's observant, extremely kind, and has an intuitive sense for animal care and safety. He has taken care of my own fur baby, Pizza, many times. There's no one I'd feel more confidant in to watch over my pet. Chris will treat your pup like his own, shower them with love and affection and keep their well-being as the top priority.
