I love them all, big and small
Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and have loved them my whole life. I have owned 2 dogs during my life, a Lab/Collie cross named Troon and an Australian Shepherd named Taz. I started researching dog training methods in middle school and haven't stopped since. Growing up, I was the kid who went door to door asking to play with or walk my neighbor's dogs. I pay no attention to breed stereotypes, Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds are among my favorite breeds. My senior year of high school I ran a pet food and donation drive for the local animal shelter. I set boundaries for dogs when I care for them (for example not being under foot while I handle food), this is mostly for safety but also because I believe dogs are happiest when they have a puzzle to solve or something to think about. I would be happy to teach your pet some tricks if you are agreeable. If your dog has any behaviors you would like me to work on during a stay, please let me know. I also have 11 years of experience with horses. I have experience farm sitting, watching, various birds, horses, and dogs.

Chris you are simply AWESOME !!! Thank you so much for taking care of our pups. We are so lucky we found someone we can trust and love our pups.
We are beyond thankful to have Chris helping us with our Pups. She is such a nice, loving and overall amazing person. Our pups love her.
Chris worked for me for three years and sat for the farm when I travelled .She is excellent with animals and very responsible. I highly recommend her and think will make a wonderful caregiver for dogs.
I have known Chris for nearly two years, starting when she was my daughter's roommate at the University of Connecticut. She has a remarkable rapport with animals of all sorts, from horses and livestock to my cranky little poodle, Benji. Benji is usually not good with people outside our family, but he took to Chris immediately. She managed the delicate balancing act of earning his affection while not letting him get away with any misbehavior. Last month, while studying for finals, she made the hour's drive from UConn to our house in Connecticut to dogsit for us on short notice when our usual sitter was unavailable. Chris is completely trustworthy, dependable, friendly and enthusiastic about every kind of animal. You could not have a better petsitter!

I am still new to the area so I would be happy to walk your dog around your home or another place you suggest. Trick training, hide and seek, fetch, and tug-of-war are some of the activities I do with dogs.
