Pet care experience
Our family has always been a dog and a pet family. When my wife and I moved in together, we joined our pack to a total of 4 dogs. Since then, we have continued our love of dogs and animals. This also holds true for both our daughters (ages 11 and 14), who love, respect, and are incredibly responsible with all animals. Both Chris and Abbi are very confident with managing dogs and currently own 2 well-trained dogs. (ages 2 and 4 years old). We are a very active family and we ensure all dogs will get daily exercise (min. 1 hour) outside as we are within walking distance of a major trail system. Our family also has a family bunny that lives in my daughter's room, free-roaming. We have owned and cared for phoenix for 2 years, and we have the knowledge and experience to provide boarding services for your pet bunny. We also have experience with hamsters, gerbils, and mice, and are available to provide boarding services for small rodents as well.

This was Bernie’s second time staying with Chris & Abigail and she had an excellent time just like before. It is so nice to be able to go on vacation and not be stressed or worried about our dog! Bernie is a loving dog but has lots of energy and Chris and Abigail make sure she is well excerised, fed and loved. Thanks again for all your care & support!
Chris and Abigail took great care of Skye and I felt very comfortable and pleased with the experience. They provided updated and photos throughout the stay, and Skye came home a happy girl.

Our house is a great setup for dogs. We have a large fully fenced yard with trees and grass to play safely in. The house is located on a dead-end street with very little car traffic. The house has a full basement that is open for dogs to check out and take space to chill and relax. We do not clean with toxic or chemical products. We have a couple of rooms to safely separate animals if required. Most importantly, Chris and Abbi have worked with and owned a large variety of dogs (both with 30 years of experience), and have the knowledge and training to ensure an incident does not occur.

Our household has extensive experience working with puppies (fostering multiple litters of puppies) and supporting and managing senior dogs. Also, we are experienced in administrating medicine and taking care of special needs dogs. If your dog has any special needs or requirements outside the norm, we will have the background and knowledge to manage it with ease. You can rest easy knowing your dogs will be well taken care of, regardless of their needs.
A typical day
We are a very physical family. At a minimum, I go on hour-long hikes daily with the dogs. My house is located right next to the Hamilton Conservation open land with direct access to a major trail network that I hike on a daily basis. Additionally, my daughter has soccer 3-4x/week at multiple locations, and I take the dogs on hikes while she is at practice. On top of all of that, I visit the Ancaster off-leash dog park 1-2x/week.

Availability
Between Chris and Abbi, someone is working from home (there might be one day/week we both are not home). Abbi's office is a 10-minute bike ride and she can get home if needed. Chris exercises the dogs before work, and always in the evenings. Chris likes to take the dogs out late in the night (7-10pm) when it is dark out and has the trails to himself.
