Pet care experience
We have both been volunteers with all animal welfare organizations in the Grand Junction area for over 20 years. We have volunteered with Best Friends Animal Society on the Navajo Nation for spay/neuter clinics for cats and dogs for the past 6 years. We have 6 cats, 2 bunnies and a tortoise...Our animals are our family!

I would trust Teri & Chip with my kitties in a heartbeat! I have worked with Teri for several years in the "animal rescue" capacity. Teri & Chip are caring, loving, and responsible pet parents and I have met most of their fur babies. We have trapped kitties together on numerous occasions and Chip is there to assist whenever needed. You could not find more dedicated cat people! P.S.
Chip and Teri are consummate animal people. I first met them many years ago when they adopted their first rabbits to live indoors with their established family of cats. Later they added a tortoise. All creatures are given equal status with the humans and in fact, likely get a little more consideration than the humans! I am delighted to hear they wish to be pet sitters; we will happily use them in helping to care for the kids in our Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue Northwest Colorado Sanctuary for bunnies. They are knowledgeable cat and bunny people and I would trust them completely with any and all of our fur babies!
Chip is our neighbor and good friend. He and his wife,Teri, have taken care of our cat when we have been on vacation sometimes up to two weeks. We acquired our cat,Jobee, from Chip and Teri about 13 years ago when they were fostering pets. They are kind and loving to all animals as demonstrated when they took over the care of an older dog when its owner passed away. I have no doubt that Chip and Teri will be valued participants in your program.

Let us know what your pet needs to feel loved and cared for and we can provide it! If you have bunnies you can be sure we know how to monitor daily food and can safely lift and carry a rabbit if necessary.
A typical day
We enjoy playing with the cats (lots of cats toys in our house!) especially the "fishing pole" chase game. The bunnies (Buster and Officer Artichoke) have an outdoor day area and get to run and jump and play when we are home to watch them. Tao the Tortoise gets all the fresh greens and dandelions he can munch. He also has an outdoor, secure area for daytime roaming.

Availability
We have 6 cats, two rabbits, and one tortoise. These animals are our family and we take care of them as we would our children. One cat has asthma and needs daily medications, another is a food monger and is overweight. We do our best to keep him on a special diet to lose weight. Our most senior cat was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney failure two years ago. Through proper diet, she is now 15 and going strong.
