I've been an animal lover all my life. My Navajo father taught me to cultivate my relationship with animals through communication, respect, and really listening to them. My mother taught me to use my skill to help care for animals whenever I could. As a kid I walked my dog as well as the neighbor's. I LOVED helping my friends and relatives train their dogs. I still do! I even taught my cat to use the toilet. I use positive reinforcement to teach desired behaviors, and would happily help teach dogs not to pull on the lead. I've taught an "untrainable" pit pup to walk calmly beside me in 2 walks. Having said that, I never veer from a client's desired rules and training methods and wouldn't do any training unless asked. When I got older I ran a mobile dog grooming business, which I believe taught me a lot of skill in working with many different types of doggy (and kitty!) personalities. Patience and respect are always key. I have always been the go to pet walker and pet sitter for my friends and family, so I know what it means to take extra care and pay attention to detail in other people's spaces, and with other people's pets. Tiny oversights can lead to big problems, so I always check everything twice! My dog Byron is my favorite person in the world and I would be devastated if anyone treated him with anything less than 110% care, so that's what I promise to give your pet. I believe people can see the truth in each other and my truth is that I love to care for animals.
