I grew up with dogs my whole life.
Pet care experience
When I was a teenager I got my own dog after having 2 dogs since I was 5 years old. Actually had 3 dogs and one had nine puppies! When my daughter was 7 years old we decided to get a dog for our family. She was a 3 1/2 month old "rescue" puppy. Part Wheaten Terrier, and part lab we believe, Her name was Wheaties and we loved her dearly. She passed a couple of years ago. We used to to walk her all the time. Now I just walk by myself so that feels a little weird. So I do miss having that companionship and now that my daughter has moved out of the house I would welcome the opportunity to have a dog as a "buddy" again.

No breed preference necessary. Prefer dogs that are not aggressive. Dogs like me because they can sense I like them and have experience in teaching a dog discipline and training like sit, give me paw, lay down, stay, come, etc.
A typical day
I live on a street with a sidewalk and I also live near many bike paths and reservoirs. I would walk the same areas where I walked my dog. I have a large yard with a wooded area in the back. If the dog would like to play catch with a ball or frisbee that would possible.
