Pet care experience
I have had dogs all my life and truly love them like children! I have a dog friendly house with one of my own, a mini Dachshund named Chichi. My girl loves being around other dogs. We have a large backyard to play ball in and we also go to the park in my neighborhood. My husband loves walking in the evening, so I have his help also. If you don't mind your dogs being spoiled, then this is the place for your babies. Also, I'm a semi-retired personal chef and make organic treats (if allowed) for the fur babies! Also, I need to add there are different rates for different circumstances, such as puppy rates, dogs that are large, no matter the age, that do not mind basic commands, etc.
Reviews
She is an excellent pet sitter. Our dog was missing her even after coming back to house. I highly recommend her.
Darcy is always excited to pull up to the house, knowing she's getting to stay with Cheryl.
Cheryl was great with our pups again! We would highly recommend her and absolutely use her again in the future
2 stars. We were told our dogs would be the only ones there. That was not true. We have 3 dogs and then she had 2 other dogs there when we dropped ours off. She said this was due to the owners being stuck overseas. Those dogs were still there several days later when we picked our dogs up. We dropped the dogs off the 1st day around 11:30 am and didn't hear any update until I messaged her the next morning. She then messaged me several hours later that one of my dogs had been standing all day and had not lay down in almost 9 hours (he is almost 14 years old. This is SO hard on him). I told her that he may need help to lay down, since he gets confused. In the evening of the 2nd day, she finally sent our first picture updates (terrible pics- 1 pic each dog). AM of the 3rd day is when the real nightmare started. She called ROVER first and asked them what she should do with MY DOG before she ever attempted to contact me. I had given her my number for emergencies but she said she didn't call it because she thought it was my sister's #. I DONT HAVE A SISTER. She said that my older dog had collapsed outside and she was unable to help him up (very hot weather). I believe she was somehow finally able to get him up, but then she said she was scared to let him outside again because she might not be able to get him in again. What? Why am I paying you to care for dogs that you are physically unable to care for? Turns out that my dog's back gave out. Was it because one of the other dogs bumped or mounted him? I have no way of knowing. I HAD TO HAVE MY OWN BROTHER go over to the sitter's house to help her get my dog up to go to the bathroom and lay him back down. I told the sitter that I was going to arrange for my vet to prescribe a muscle relaxer to be picked up for my dog. SHE SAID SHE HAD NO WAY OF PICKING IT UP. HOW WOULD YOU HAVE TAKEN MY DOG TO THE VET IN AN EMERGENCY?! Finally, she was able to have her husband go pick the med up (only reason for 2 stars instead of 1). It was either the same day or the next day that she advised me that this same dog had diarrhea. She stated she would give him yogurt. Fine. I thought this resolved itself over the remaining days because I heard nothing more of it until the last day when she told me he was still having diarrhea. When I picked my dog up, HE WAS COVERED IN DIARRHEA. What other job can you produce a feces-covered object (let alone a living being) as your final result? Is this what caring looks like? She did not even try to clean him or his bed. He looked as if he stayed collapsed on the floor, in pain, in all the pics she sent. My poor dog HAS A SORE ON HIS BUTT from being left in his own filth. He also has a sore on his heel which must have been from letting him just stand or sit for long periods until he collapsed. He needed help to lay down because his back was out. She did not help him. She stated this was because she is not strong enough. I'm sorry, but please do not apply to take care of dogs you are physically unable to care for. We are confident our dog would be deceased if we had left him in her care another week.
