We have been using Cheryl to board our dog Daisy three to four times per year. We have done so for the past two years. We find Cheryl to be a caring, professional dog sitter. Our dog really likes being with Cheryl and her dogs and returns home tired and happy. Cheryl moved to another city recently but we travel to drop our dog off because we have the peace of mind knowing Daisy is temporarily living with someone she loves and someone who loves her as if she was her own. The best boarding experience ever!

Cheryl has 40+ years of experience taking care of animals. She has extensive experience working with all types of dogs and has several training certifications and specializations. She is extremely reliable and a wonderful option for dog boarding when you want your dog to have a safe vacation, not be left in a kennel. You will never have to worry if your dog is okay if you board them with Cheryl.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a lovely quiet farm that is the perfect place for animal care. Technically I do not have a fenced yard by I do have large indoor arena that dogs can safely play off leash in a completely secure area. I started pet sitting because I had clients that had dogs that would not have been ok in a commercial kennel. I am a perfect situation for anxious or elderly dogs. Also a great situation for puppies who may not thrive in a kennel. My own dogs are great and use to dogs coming and going. I moved to Brockville from Durham region and although many of my regular dogs still come and stay with me I do have availability and would love some regular dogs from this area.

Information Cheryl H. would like to know about your pet

For the safety of your animal and mine your dog needs to be dog and cat safe. Doesn’t need to play or interact just no aggression issues as I have small dogs and cats in my home and have to think about their well being. I’m very good with anxious dogs having fostered for many years and keeping your dog safe is my first priority so double leashing or no slip collars are used on any flight risk dogs. Please make sure I know everything about your dog from health concerns to behavioural issues.

A typical day

A lot depends on the dogs. The high energy dogs that stay with me get to play in the large indoor arena or can go hiking in the trails on the wooded area on my property. If the dogs are nervous or elderly we keep it quiet as not all dogs enjoy zoomies and rough play. I’m not a kennel so very limited amount of dogs come to stay, usually no more than two at a time unless they are my regulars who are like family and are very comfortable.

Availability

I’m self employed as a trainer but also have always included dog sitting for clients who didn’t want to kennel their dogs. I do go to clients homes for training or dog walking but I am not gone for long hours so dog/cat sitting works great. I can schedule my days so both boarded dogs and training clients get all the attention needed.
