Belly Scratching Rescue Mom!
Pet care experience
I have taken care of animals my entire life, ranging from dogs and cats, to horses, hermit crabs and fish! We were a rescue family for MANY years, and they would often come to us with medical conditions, fear of humans, or simply defeated. It is amazing what a little patience and a lot of love can accomplish... I am very comfortable administering fluids, injections, and medicine plus lots of love and attention for everyone I care for. I always make a point of bringing in mail and packages, and will handle whatever you request.

The good: I’m outside Cheryl’s zone but she still offered to cat sit which was nice of her. She went above what was asked and did some sweeping around the litter boxes. She also communicated when my cats were low on food so I could have some delivered before they ran out. The not so good: I came home to a key box that was unlocked with my house key inside and a slightly opened first floor window. Both huge security risks! Not to mention I was heating a house with an open window. Cheryl’s daily updates were usually a single photo of one cat but I wanted to make sure my other cat who’s shy was coming out so I checked my cameras. I found Cheryl was not feeding my cats their wet food. I messaged her after the third day to see how it’s going and specifically asked if she was able to find the wet food and feeding instructions. She ignored the question and said it was going great. The next day they finally got their wet food. I took a closer look at the cameras after the wet food incident. Both cats combined were lucky to get half a dozen pets in a visit. One of my cats is very social, the other is shy for a few days until he gets desperate for affection then he’s social as well. She spent a significant amount of time (about 10 to 15 minutes of each 30 minute visit) sitting on my couch using her phone rather than socializing with my cats, even when they jumped on the couch with her and followed her around. I showed her where the cat treats and wand toy were so she could interact with them and they’re also good to lure out my shy cat. Both went untouched.
Cheryl was great! She got along with our dogs well and sent regular updates. I would highly recommend her for your pet needs.
Cheryl is fantastic! My dogs love her, and she treats them with love and care as if they were her own.
Cheryl was prompt and let us know right away with a photo when she arrived. She kept us posted with periodic updates and kindly dealt with mail and deliveries as well. We look forward to seeing her again!

I prefer to house sit in your home as I have an elderly animal living with me who gets pretty darn grumpy when her schedule is interrupted! But in your home, I am respectful of your space. I tend to sleep on the couch, always bring my own meals and shower at my home. Your animals will be spoiled with attention and I will discuss their schedule and needs with you prior to your departure. I feel it is very important to keep them to the schedule/preferences/etc. that you have created.
Information Cheryl C. would like to know about your pet
1. Their daily routine and schedule as consistency is very important. 2. Knowing their triggers as well as their favorite things. 3. Medical needs. 4. Meal and treat schedule. 5. Anything that makes your pet uniquely them!
A typical day
Obviously it depends on the pet, but long, sniff-filled walks and games of fetch are standard for active dogs - and I spend lots of quiet time with the shy ones, earning their trust and comfort.
