A lifetime of experience
Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Cherokee, and let me tell you about my fantastic journey in the world of pet care. My life has been a joyful adventure, filled with the pitter-patter of paws, the chirps of birds, and the gentle swim of fish. Cats, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles—my home has always been a vibrant menagerie of furry, feathery, and scaly friends. Whether cradling delicate newborns or sharing the golden years with wise seniors, my heart has always been open to animals with all kinds of needs. Currently, my days are brightened by the company of Stormy, my exuberant Labrador Retriever, and Gizmo, my clever cat. Teaching them the ropes of basic commands has not only deepened our connection but also given me a sense of fulfillment like no other. My passion doesn't stop at my own pets; over the years, I've extended my love and care to my family's and neighbor's animals, offering my expertise in pet sitting and fostering a community of happy, healthy critters. From my early days as a teenager to now, my commitment to animals has only grown stronger. Their well-being is not just a priority—it's my mission, my joy, and my lifelong adventure.
Reviews
We’ve had Cherokee watch our pets twice now and each time she has done amazing! Our boy Frank loves her!
Cherokee was great! This was my first time getting a sitter for my baby and she really made me feel at peace with the meet and greet alone so I knew I’d have no worries leaving him in her hands for the weekend she sent updates including pictures and was very prompt with meeting the schedule can’t wait to book her again
Cherokee was wonderful! Her initial replies to me were super prompt and she was willing to watch my dog the same day. She was so kind and accommodating. She also took the time to get to know what my dog and asked all the right questions in regards to his care. Her dog is also so sweet and gentle. My dog had a wonderful time and truly left as a happy camper. I definitely will be bringing my dog back to Cherokee for daycare!
Cherokee was a great sitter for our cats! She was very responsive and kept our minds at ease while we were away. Would recommend her to everyone!

Safety, trust & environment
When I'm pet sitting I always prioritize the safety and well-being of our furry friends. Here are the guidelines I follow to ensure their happiness and security: 1. I make sure to supervise all interactions between pets, especially if they're meeting for the first time or if there's any history of tension. 2. I keep all doors, windows, and gates securely closed to prevent any accidental escapes. 3. I stick to their regular feeding schedule and provide them with the appropriate food according to their dietary needs. 4. I ensure a constant supply of fresh water is available to keep them hydrated throughout the day. 5. If any pets require medication, I administer it exactly as prescribed by their owner. 6. I create cozy, quiet spaces for them to rest and sleep comfortably, away from any disturbances. 7. I remove or secure any potentially hazardous items, such as toxic plants or small objects, to prevent accidents. 8. If requested, I maintain their regular exercise routine, whether it's walks, playtime, or other activities they enjoy. 9. I keep a list of emergency contacts handy, including the owners, their veterinarian, and an after-hours pet clinic. 10. I'm mindful of the indoor and outdoor temperatures, ensuring they're comfortable and safe from extreme weather conditions. 11. I attend to their grooming needs, including brushing and cleaning, to keep them looking and feeling their best. 12. Regular updates to the pet parents about their pets' activities, behavior, and any concerns help keep everyone informed and reassured. 13. I pay close attention to any changes in their behavior, appetite, or energy levels and promptly communicate any observations to the owners. By following these guidelines, I ensure a safe, enjoyable, and stress-free experience for both the pets and their loving owners.

A typical day
As a pet sitter, my typical day is a delightful blend of furry fun and responsible care. It all kicks off when I arrive at the pet owner's home. The first order of business is ensuring that my four-legged charges have their food and fresh water. Once everyone's fueled up, we embark on a walk, giving them the chance to stretch their legs and take care of their business. Then it's playtime galore – fetch, tug-of-war, or just some good ol' fashioned cuddles, tailored to each pet's preferences. We'll enjoy a bit of bonding over treats and take a few photos to update the pet owners. As the day winds down, we ease into a calming routine with more cuddles and relaxation. Making sure they're comfortable and content is a top priority. I'll tidy up any messes, refresh their water, and ensure their environment is safe and secure. Ultimately, being a pet sitter is a rewarding adventure, filled with love, laughter, and the happiness of furry companions. Every day brings a new tail-wagging tale, and I can't wait to make sure your pets have the best time while you're away!
