I love dogs and have cared for them with my five children, all now grown. My first dog was a toy poodle - a show dog, beautiful. I was only five years old. A Christmas present I'll never forget. It was ironic that on a Christmas night a few years later, she went missing. (no fence around the property). I searched for her and even went down the street for blocks all by myself. I remember seeing a little (chicken) bone lying in the street and I was horrified that it might be her remains. I came home crying, and was devastated to learn that she had indeed been run over by a car. I couldn't wait for the next dog - another toy poodle. We had her also for a long time, but same fate. My dogs have all had FENCES!!! My favorite dogs were Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. So beautiful and loving lap dogs. I loved to take care of my son and daughter-in-law's Goldendoodle, so friendly and sweet with my grandchildren. (A little on the large side for me now.) My youngest son named our last dog after his nick name "scooter", a Shih Tzu. He helped all of us through a sad time...but he passed away a few years ago after struggling with blindness and skin lesions from cancer. When he was brand new, I learned how to crate train him with a clicker. Not only did he have good manners, we had a lot of fun together. Would love to help you with yours!
