Personal vet tech at your service!
Pet care experience
If you want a sense of security and expect only the best for your pets, look no further! I worked as a veterinary technician for 8 years in a busy animal hospital in NY before coming to Massachusetts July 2019. I am now a trained behavior analyst working with children with autism and other developmental disorders to help acquire new skills and help manage challenging behaviors. I have had dogs my whole life. Animals are my biggest passion! I am familiar with medications and dog/cat diseases so if administering pills or injections is necessary, have no worry! I am comfortable caring for an aged pet (elderly pups hold a soft spot in my heart). I am also comfortable with house sitting cats. I understand many felines are fearful of having a stranger in their home, but I am willing to take the time to make my presence known at a comfortable pace and let them dictate when they want to be my friend. There are some steps we can discuss to make cats more comfortable to these types of events. I have three adopted dogs of my own, a 12 year old shih tzu, a 9 year old labradoodle, and a 7 year old standard poodle, but have no breed preference. I have fostered a pitbull , beagle, and a min-pin mix ❤️. My dogs are the world to me and I know I am not the only one who feels that way. Your pet will be safe, loved, and having fun under my wing. Due to dog reactivity from histories of abuse, I do not board within my home to ensure the safety of both my dogs and my clients. I am more than willing to work out a plan to watch your pets in your home! Currently I work odd hours and have different availability during the week. Depending on the day, I have more availability in the morning. I am available on the weekends!
Reviews
Chelsey provide excellent care for my cat Sebastian. Thank for your services!
Chelsey was a wonderful and considerate care giver for my cat Sebastian. She made it a point to meet and greet him prior to my extended weekend trip. My cat suffers from separation anxiety under normal circumstances. I’ve worked from home during the pandemic. I was worried about leaving him for a few days. Chelsey stepped in and put my mind at ease with daily updates with videos. Sebastian was happy as well. I’m preparing to book her services again.
Where do I even start to describe Chelsey? A “godsend” is the first thing that comes to mind, along with many other accolades such as professional, considerate, well prepared, intelligent, conscientious— I could go on! But the most important one of all is that my rather recalcitrant senior silky terrier, Max, has taken quite a shine to Chelsey. Chelsey house/pet sat for us and sent us pix of herself and Max watching animal planet together! It was the cutest’. Best of all, Max was content to sit on her lap when normally he nervously paves around the house. If you decide to hire Chelsey, please know that she is the utmost professional in her approach to your pet. She wants to know all about their health history, food requirements, medicines, etc. She takes notes! Last but not least, Chelsey was an excellent house guest. Everything was clean and tidy when she left. We came home to my dog sleeping contentedly. We could not be happier with Chelsey’s services and consider ourselves lucky to have found her!

During the meet and greet, I like to ask comprehensive questions on day to day care and scenarios for potential emergencies. I want the pets to feel comfortable and for my clients to feel that they don’t have to worry. I use my previous vet tech experience with my current behavior analytic knowledge to build a plan for structure, routine, and of course lots of attention and love!
Information Chelsey K. would like to know about your pet
Any pertinent medical history? Current illnesses or injuries? Any aggression with other animals, people, situation, or objects? (Ie. food, toy, other animals, being touched in a certain area) What does your pet enjoy doing? Allergies? (Food or environmental) Would you like updates whenever your pet is in my care?
A typical day
For dogs that are under my care for an entire day, I enjoy taking them on walks, going to dog parks, hiking (should the weather permit) and of course snuggling on the couch for lazy days. I am open to suggestions based on the needs of your pet.
