Pet care experience
I've grown up with a dog in my house since I was 6 years old. I've always been a dog lover and have had an adopted difficult Great Dane who we have trained and nurtured into the most amazing gentle giant! I am an active person that enjoys being outdoors, so of course this includes dog walking and playing at the park. Whatever specific needs you and your pup have, I will work hard to accommodate. I'm also happy to help with other puppy related chores or tasks. My goal is to make your pet happy and to make you feel at ease! Let me know what your fur baby needs and I will ensure that it does! I used to work at Mud Bay, the pet store, so I am familiar with complex diets, play styles, toy safety, different leashes and training techniques as well as basic medicine and how to administer it. I also have experience housesitting, although not through Rover and am clean, organized and respectful. I appreciate communication and always make sure that I am following the guidelines requested by the people whose homes I watch. *I also have experiences with horses, chickens, other livestock, fish, rodents and reptiles! Farm chores and capability as well :) *

I normally only leave my dog with family, so finding someone I could trust to watch her while we were away was very important to me! Chelsea sent updates with a picture or video everyday which was very reassuring to see our pup being well taken care of. She also left our apartment very clean! That was very nice to come home to after being away. I would definitely recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for a pet sitter, you can tell her love for animals runs deep! Thanks again!

Chelsea has provided overnight dog/fish/house sitting for our family and clearly loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. She wasn't afraid to ask questions both during our "orientation" to the house/pets and when we were out of town (I much prefer this to care givers winging it!). My only complaint is that she is moving from our state - we will miss her! I wholeheartedly recommend her.

I am respectful and responsive to the wishes of the owners and the needs of the animals day-to-day. Overall I am an extremely caring and loving animal lover, with an understanding of different preferences and training techniques. I do not utilize any sort of aggressive or disciplinary tactics, but believe in listening to the communication your pet is giving me and responding in a positive and constructive manner! I find pet psychology interesting, but I also know that most animals only require the basics of love and care (:

I appreciate knowing if your dog has any reactivity or behavior that you would consider out of the norm so that I can educate myself and ensure that I am the best person to care for your pet! I have worked with reactive dogs before and provide structure, safety and positive reinforcement so as not to trigger them during my care. In most cases, I would not do any behavioral interventions, but rather avoid putting your pet in a situation that makes them feel anxious or insecure.
A typical day
I just moved back to the area, so anywhere near your house that is safe, I would love to explore with your pet! If you have specific places that you take your dog or a routine that they are used to, please let me know and I will follow that. I work my day around whatever your preference is and if you do not follow a strict routine with your pets, I will provide food and dinner at regular times each day that I am there as well as adequate exercise and play time. If your dog or cat has some special toys or things they enjoy for activity or stimulation (puzzles are fun!), please let me know.

Availability
I work 4 days a week at a massage clinic in Fairhaven with varying hours. I am available all day Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and every morning and evening. If I am unable to work that will be reflected in my calendar as soon as I know. Please reach out even if you are looking for something 6 months away.
