An experienced, flexible and responsible Animal Professional who has experience with cats, dogs, exotics, reptiles, birds, and small animals, is new to this site, and willing to travel. I own my own home in Montville where it's peaceful with a newly finished fence and a lot of yard! Older pieces of fence were tested and all compromised panels were replaced or fixed so we know it's 100% secure- although supervision outside is a must, reduardless. Safe with PLENTY of space for getting zoomies! Bio: For the last- almost 8- years I worked as the Geriatric/Hospice Dept. Director for an Animal Rescue, and have owned everything in my life from Chickens to Bearded Dragons and Rabbits, to Dogs. Besides Geriatric/Hospice, my second task there was managing, training, and comforting our most fearful animals- eventually bringing them to a balanced and adoptable state. Knowing how to seem unthreatening, approachable and warm to a nervous animal is not something everybody has- but it's such a vital quality when dealing with the nervous types as I've done. Being given a responsibility is something I don't take lightly. If I'm entrusted with somebody's family member, I understand what a big deal it is and it will be done right! Things I'm EXTREMELY comfortable with from experience at the Rescue: ER Triage Post-op/ Wound care, Training Administering meds multiple times a day, Organizing play groups General maintaining of animals (cutting nails, cleaning ears, anal glands) Giving Vaccines Emergency care -CPR - Monitoring Vitals - Sub-Q fluids - Injectable+ Oral meds - Diabetic monitoring I'm habitually punctual, trustworthy, available, intuitive, educated, experienced- and very willing! I have a fenced in yard, plus an extra quarter acre of woodsy area behind the fence if it's a nice day for us to walk around on leash to let the pups dog, smell some leaves, and mark their territories! My live-in Significant Other of 9 years also works in this field (Intenvie Animal Care) and is as capable as I am. If I'm not home- which I almost always am- he is and helps me out with boarded animals (not staying at Clients homes, walking, or check-ins though). I'm always more than happy (and recommend!) meeting once or twice before any official deal is struck. It's very important that all three parties (sitter, client, and animal) are happy with the arrangement and it's a fit all around. ALL BOARDERS get a bath before leaving and owners get periodic updates/pictures throughout their animals' stay. Whatever it takes to help an Owner feel comfortable while they're separated!
