Pet care experience
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” I understand how difficult it can be to trust someone else with the care of your pet, your child, but I can assure you I will care for them as if they are my own. I dedicate volunteer hours and fundraising for dogs in need of care and support. I have raised 5 dogs from puppy age and enjoyed every minute. I have basic training skill from attending multiple obedience classes, oral/ophthalmic/injection medication administration and medical condition knowledge as a nurse, as well as basic grooming understanding. I have education in canine CPR and choking maneuvers. I require a meet and greet free of charge prior to working with you and your pet to ensure you and your loved one are comfortable with my care. I practice COVID-19 safety measures at all times and will ensure proper protective and sanitation processes will be conducted when entering your home. I am currently a graduate student looking for supplemental income in an area that has always been my passion: dogs! I am available all days but Tuesdays, which is when I am completing school clinical hours. Even then, if you needed early morning or evening care for your child I could work out a drop-in schedule. As a nurse, I believe it is beneficial for our mental and physical health to practice wellness and exercise, so why would we expect any different for our furry loved ones? I am available to travel to your pet and bring them walking or to a park as there are nearby hiking trails and multiple dogs parks in my area that I frequent often with my own dogs. There is also the option to bring you child back to my home where I have 2 black labradors who are high-energy children and who have been inviting of all dogs who have visited their home. We live on 10 acres off a seldom-traveled dirt road, up on a hill, with a large grassy yard to play on. I am opened to visitation with you and your pet if this makes you more comfortable. I, and my fur babies, are respectful that if your child is not comfortable with other dogs that there is separation for safety reasons.
About Chelsea R.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I have the availability to bring the dogs to nearby dog parks, hiking trails, and I have a large 10 acre yard that is up away from a dirt road that the dogs would have supervised play time at if you chose for me to bring you pup elsewhere to play. If you were more comfortable with me walking your dog in your own neighborhood, of course that is fine as well!
Information Chelsea R. would like to know about your pet
1. What makes your pet most comfortable? Is there a favorite toy? Favorite stuffy? Nickname? 2. Does your pet have any allergies/diet restrictions? 3. All though each dog interaction and situation brings about new emotions for your pet, are they generally comfortable to meet and play with other dogs? 4. Emergency contact numbers and veterinarian information, you NEVER know! I always like to be prepared just in case! 5. Vaccinations up to date? (Many dog parks don’t allow pets without vaccinations and I want to be sure my kids are protected too if they meet!) :)
A typical day
Walks, playtime with other pets (if your pet is comfortable), dog park visits, and more weather permitting!
