Best care - for your best friends!

Pet care experience

Hey, hi & hello there fellow fur parents! My name is Chelsea, & I am an avid animal lover through & through - now servicing the wonderful areas of North / Central Edmonton. Animals have always had a super soft spot in my heart ever since I can remember to say the least! From a very young age, I had aspired to become a veterinarian simply so that I could take care of them. Despite the fact that I have pursued a different animal related career path, my love for animals of all shapes & sizes is still as prominent as ever! I wholeheartedly enjoy / love what I do. Here’s a few highlights to consider when booking with me: ⭐️ Certified Dog Trainer! ⭐️ Fear Free Certified Professional! ⭐️ Walks ‘N’ Wags First Aid Certified! ⭐️ I am a fear / force free advocate! ⭐️ Over 115 reviews from clients & counting! ⭐️ Experienced with fearful & reactive pups! ⭐️ I use positive reinforcement! ⭐️ My communication is always timely! ⭐️ I take high quality & professional photos! I have 13+ years of professional experience (6 full-time years & 7 part-time years) working with a wide variety of critters - dogs, guinea pigs, horses, cats, rabbits, fish, birds, goats, etc. My overall understanding & knowledge of animals allows me to provide your beloved companions with the utmost care that they require while under my watch! As a devout fur parent of four myself, I completely understand the amount of responsibility that comes with looking after the well-being of animals & am committed to ensuring that they are always in safe, loving & caring hands at all times. FUN FACT: I started my first dog walking "business" when I was 8 years old for only $2 per walk! Thank you so very much for stopping by & taking the time to read through my profile. If you have any further questions or inquiries for me whatsoever, please do not hesitate to get in touch at any point in time & I will be more than happy to help of course! I truly look forward to hearing from you & potentially caring for your furry, scaled or even feathered little family members. PLEASE NOTE: I am simply an independent contractor through Rover & am not a hired employee - which is why care providers are able to set their own individual rates on this platform. In addition to Rover taking a 20% commission of what I make from each booking & charging fur parents a 5-7% fee on top of that as well, all of my service rates are priced fairly (priced higher here on Rover in order to make up for the 20% cut) & are in line with the professional animal care industry rates. I pride myself on the fact that I am able to provide continuous, one on one services backed by years of ample experience, certification & education in order to look after animals in a professional & caring manner! New to Rover? Get $20 off your first booking by using my promo code: CHELSP87150 P.S. I am also a graphic design artist & specialize in creating custom pet portraits. My portraits are created digitally & are a combination of using digital painting, photo editing & manipulation. Each & every single portrait that I create is truly special & captures the remarkable essence of your beloved companions in the most creative way possible! https://www.animalavenue.ca 🐕🌻🐾🐇🌈🐈‍⬛🌞💜🌞🐈‍⬛🌈🐇🐾🌻🐕

Chelsea had such a wonderful demeanour with my husky Birch who was more than happy to go for walks with her, and I’m sure learned a thing or two in the process :) thanks so much Chelsea!

This is the second time we have used Chelsea's services. She is extremely professional and is able to administer our elderly cat's medication. Our cat loves her and we will use her services again in the future.

Information Chelsea P. would like to know about your pet

What are your companions likes / dislikes? I strive to make all of my bookings as comfortable as possible for each & every single one of my furry clients - doing my utmost best to set us up for success right from the get go. If your companion has any sort of medical, physical or behavioural tendencies that I should be made aware of - kindly let me know beforehand so that we can prepare to make our time spent together more comfortable in advance & potentially discuss our options to make sure that we have an enjoyable & safe booking! Your companions overall confidence, happiness, health & safety are always the top priority in my books while we’re together or out & about in the world.

A typical day

DOG WALKING: I’m a quality over quantity gal to say the least! My sole priority during each & every single one of my walk bookings is to simply let your pup go at their preferred pace & ENJOY our walk together to the fullest - so all of my walks are 99.9% dog led. It is their walk, after all! So with that being said, you can expect your dog to not only get physical exercise, but also a ton of mental stimulation & enrichment along the way via. allowing them to sniff to their hearts content, dig, roll around, play & simply do what dog’s do best. Please be sure to provide all necessary accessories in order to ensure a safe walk for not only your pup, but myself & other people / animals as well (leash, properly fitted harness, up to date identification tags, a copious amount of their favourite bite sized high value treats, etc). Because I am a force free dog trainer - I will *not* use aversives such as prong collars, choke chains, shock collars, head halters / haltis, etc. PLEASE NOTE: My time begins upon my arrival & ends once I’m back in my vehicle / your rover card has been completed & follow up message has been sent. If you happen to have an anxious or nervous pup that may require an extended amount of time to help build their confidence in order for us to get to know each other OR have their accessories comfortably equipped (collar, harness, leash, boots, jacket, etc.) & you feel that they require a full 30 / 60 minutes devoted solely to our stroll - please feel free to let me know & we can always add on additional time to your booking! P.S. My pups Skye & Oliver (a.k.a. my furry coworkers / the branch managers) join me *occasionally* throughout the day for my bookings - excluding indoor drop-in visits of course. Depending on my assessment during our meet & greet together beforehand or your individual preferences, I will determine whether or not our pups will be a good fit for a stroll together! If your dog is not a big fan of having another furry legged friend accompany them during their walk time, that's no problem whatsoever of course. Feel free to let me know & I’ll be sure to reserve our time together exclusively! DROP-IN VISITS: If you are making a drop-in visit booking, then rest assured I will follow all of your instructions assigned beforehand to the best of my ability. Drop-in visits normally include 1-2 potty breaks for dogs; litterbox scooping for cats; mental stimulation via. puzzles, toys & brain games for both dogs & cats; replenishing of food & water dishes; several high quality photos; a detailed description of our time spent together & plenty of snuggles / playtime of course! Be sure to provide some of your companions absolute favourite high value treats in order to make the experience even more positive & rewarding. PLEASE NOTE: Though I do not mind occasionally performing very simple / basic tasks outside of my general scope of services for extended drop-in visit bookings (mail collection, watering a plant or two, etc.) please keep in mind that you are booking me *solely* as an animal care provider. Reasonable requests made outside my area of expertise will potentially be completed to the best of my ability, at my own discretion & will only be done so within my booked time frame! With that being said, I fully reserve the right to refuse any / all requests that are simply not reasonable to ask of an animal care attendant to perform during a drop in visit booking.

SCHEDULE: I work as a companion care provider on a full time basis! Despite being booked in advance more often than not with my regular clients, my schedule is somewhat flexible & I am often able to accommodate *some* last minute bookings for the most part. Please make sure to take a peek at my calendar availability first & continue to read through the rest of my profile before making a booking request with me! At the moment I am currently only able to accept bookings within 5km of my service radius in order to accommodate all of my current clients & am not able to stray too far away from that vicinity (North / Central Edmonton). However, I am more than happy to potentially take on requests from outside of my service area for an additional fee - when available! Area / distance dependent, price subject to change based on km’s to & from.
