Professional Dog Pal 🐶🏃‍♀️

Pet care experience

Hello! I'm Chelsea, a professional dog walker/hugger hittin' the mean streets of Victoria, BC. I've been walking dogs full-time for almost 6 years, and was doing part-time dog-sitting for years before that. I love my job and am always looking for new furry friends to add to one of my packs, or have some quality one-on-one time with :). I'm currently accepting new clients for group walks, private walks, daycare and house-sitting. A little about me: a transplant from Toronto, I came to Victoria seeking a quieter life and a little garden to grow tomatoes in! I ended up finding an amazing community here and love being one of the neighborhood 'dog people'. I live in North Park with my girlfriend and our little rescue Frenchie, Rosie. I am passionate about the environment and while I love adventure walks, I get around entirely on foot (or by bike!). I have lots of experience with senior and special needs dogs, including our more nervous and leash reactive friends. I've been around the block (literally) so I know the drill! Also, I'm a big believer in positive reinforcement and the power of rewarding dogs 💪.

Chelsea is amazing. She took such great care of our little pug Izzy. We received lots of updates and cute pictures of Izzy during her stay and Chelsea was so great with communication before, during and after. We can’t wait to leave Izzy with her again. Highly recommend!!

Chelsea took great care of Nova, she just wanted to follow her back out when she dropped her home! Chelsea clearly cares a lot for the pets in her care and sent lovely pictures of Nova.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is always my #1 priority. Whether that means being extra cautious at the door to ensure there is no door-dashing, scanning the ground for those surprise errant chicken bones, or making sure we avoid any of your dog's triggers, I do my best to make sure everyone goes home happy and healthy. Please note that I require a meet and greet before any bookings with new clients. That means I am not available for same-day requests and next-day requests the first time we book. Information Chelsea M. would like to know about your pet

Their activity level, how they interact with other dogs, any commands they understand, and health and behavioral needs (allergies, medication, recall, are they an escape artist?) But generally we can work around whatever your pup's needs are!

A typical day

Prepare to get jealous of my day! Mornings start off with a quick cycle down to James Bay, where my little crew and I decide whether we feel like hitting Dallas road, Beacon's Hill, or St. Annes! After an hour everyone gets dropped off and it's back home for lunch and sometimes a quick drop-in or puppy pee break. Then I head out and start picking up my afternoon pups in the Fernwood/Oaklands/North Park area, and we'll either head to Alexander park, or take a sidewalk adventure (some of my dog's aren't awesome at being off-leash and I respect that). We do that for an hour and everyone gets dropped off, and I get to go spend time with *my* dog ♥️.

This is my full-time gig! What does that look like? Well, I have walks Monday to Friday, approximately 10am-3pm, and then I do house-sitting on the weekends. What does that mean for you as my prospective client? That means that if your dog wants to join us on a group walk and is in my service area (Fernwood/North Park/Oaklands), we'd love to have you. If your pet needs one-on-one attention, I have some private walk and drop-in availability too.
