A vacation experience for your pup!
Pet care experience
I started pet sitting in high school for neighbors and continued through college and grad school, gradually building up the number of families I regularly worked with. I've worked with all kinds of fur babies - big, small, old, young, on medication, high energy, low energy, multiple pets, playful, timid, you name it! I'm very comfortable around dogs, and in addition to pet sitting, have grown up with and owned dogs all my life. I'm used to dealing with a wide range of doggy needs and emotions, and will work with you to understand how I can provide the best experience for your pup. Please note that I only accept in-home requests for 4 nights or less. Pups are welcome in my home for up to 7 nights. I love quick stays between 1-3 nights! To make sure it's a good fit for both me and the pup, I will schedule a meet and greet as soon after the booking request as schedules allow. I will also ask you to answer the following questions: 1. Has your dog been boarded before? At a kennel? At a home? How did they do? 2. What does a normal routine look like for your dog? 3. Does your dog experience separation anxiety in your absence? 4. Are there any special quirks or needs I should know about? 5. What is your dog's feeding schedule and routine? 6. How does your dog react to loud noises, unfamiliar places, unfamiliar dogs? Are there any triggers you are aware of? 7. Does your dog crate for the workday and overnight? 8. How would you describe your dog's energy level and activity needs? 9. What makes your dog happiest? Generally, dogs with pronounced separation anxiety, very high-energy dogs and dogs who are unfamiliar with taking potty breaks in a yard won't be a good fit for me, however I'm happy to work with you to understand your and your dog's unique needs.
Reviews
Chelsea is the best! Great communication, accommodating all requests, and loving care of my dog. Highly recommend!
Chelsea was so great! She took great care of my dog and provided updates and pictures. She even bought ham for my dog after I forgot to bring it. I would highly recommend Chelsea and will definitely use her the next time I need boarding.
Chelsea took terrific care of Missy, having her active outside in the fenced yard, starring in a couple of videos, and solving a dog puzzle. Missy came home ready to relax and nap. Great job, Chelsea.
Chelsea was so wonderful to work with and made our pups’ stay truly feel like a pet vacation! She was a great communicator throughout the whole process and was sure to provide many updates and check ins about how our pup was doing throughout the stay. She engaged Flora in many fun activities and spoiled her with lots of treats, attention, and love. She was very detail oriented and sure to integrate much of what we had been doing and working on with Flora at home into her stay. It was great peace of mind knowing that Flora was in such good hands while we were away. Flora so loved her time at Chelsea’s amazing dog retreat as well! ?

I have a wonderful dog-friendly home with a huge fenced in yard. There are always squirrels and birds to watch, with a 6 ft privacy fence to make sure your pup is safe (gates are always kept locked). I am able to block off the upstairs and downstairs of my home to make sure your dog is confined to a single level and won't be getting into anything they shouldn't. This is especially nice for dogs with mobility or age issues. I live in a very walkable neighborhood with a beautiful park nearby, allowing for both short and long walks depending on your dog's preferences. I am not trained or certified in pet first aid/CPR, however I do keep a pet first aid kit at home and have basic knowledge of treating minor injuries (think thorn in paw, small scratch, minor insect bite). I will immediately contact you and a vet for larger issues, however.

Information Chelsea G. would like to know about your pet
Generally the more information you can provide about your pupper the better time they will have! I want to make the experience as comfortable (and hopefully fun!) as possible during your dog's stay. Please see the "Pet Care Experience" section for questions I will ask before confirming a stay!
A typical day
A typical day will include a morning walk, breakfast (depending on feeding schedule), quiet time during the workday (unconfined or crated, whichever is preferred) with potty breaks every 2-3 hours or as needed. In the evening I like to go on a longer walk and finish the day off with playing in the backyard. After dinner, we'll have additional playtime inside, and/or couch potato time. I don't require that dogs be crated, however it's good to know if they've been crated in the past and whether they can be crated if something unexpected comes up for their own safety and comfort.
Services
Chelsea can host
Availability
I work a normal 9-5 schedule from home, and am unlikely to be away from home for more than 4 hours during your pet's stay. Potty breaks are as needed for each dog, but will happen no less than every 3 hours. Your dog will have access to walks and backyard solo playtime (assuming they like either or both of those!). My home is very quiet and I will limit visitors during the stay.
