It can be heart wrenching to leave our pets with someone other that a trusted family member or friend. I am here on Rover because I have had personal experience with leaving my cat and bunny for the first time with someone other than friends or family this past summer. It was a vulnerable place to be and felt a bit scary. I found an amazing sitter here on Rover and was so enamored by their service and the peace of mind I received while away, that I was inspired to begin my own account. The past few summers, colleagues have approached me to watch their pets in my home while they were on vacations. At one point, I had 5 animals in my home (cat, bunny, dog, bearded dragon and a gecko) whom all lived in harmony. My experience as a pet parent searching for a trusted individual on here interlaced with others seeking me out to care for their own pets, has led me here to pursue this true passion of mine! As a teacher for 10+ years, I understand what it's like to leave a child with an adult with whom you haven't yet built a relationship with. I approach pet sitting the same way as I would with a child entering a new school year for the first time. I do this by providing support to you as the parent as much as I can in addition to your pet. I would love to talk more about what this looks like in my 3 step Meet & Greet process. My goal is to build a relationship with you and your pet and be a long-term sitter for you as a passionate, experienced and trusted individual that you can turn to when needed. Some additional background, I grew up with animals my entire life and have always been drawn to caring for them in a way that was beyond a personal pet. I have always been passionate as an elementary teacher in teaching children how to care for and respect pets through my own classroom free range bunnies. I have volunteered at shelters, cared for pets of family, friends, and colleagues and will always treat them with as much love and tenderness as my own.
