Loving your fur baby like my own!

Pet care experience

***If you are new to Rover, you can use this code and link to receive $20 off your first visit! CHELSB07763, https://www.rover.com/sit/chelsb07763 About Chelsea: So excited to meet your fur baby, love on them, and welcome them to our family. For the past five years, I have been watching over my family and friend’s fur baby. I always treat them like my own. I provide so much love and empathy especially when they need extra comfort when you are away. It makes me happy to see your fur baby happy. I have always wanted a dog of my own since I was three years old. I didn't get my first dog until 2 years ago which is when I got my Copper Bear. Growing up, my father was in the military and we moved around a lot. Both of my parents are also dog lovers, but always preached to me how important it is to include dogs into our family. The reason I never had a dog is because my parents emphasized how sad they would be if we went away on frequent trips and the stress that would be on them from our consistent moves. Growing up with these values, taught me the importance of treating my own fur babies like my human children. I didn't get my first fur baby (Copper) until I knew I was ready to dedicate my life to them. I hope to be the safe and responsible place you can lean on when you are busy or plan to go away. Experience: When it comes to personal experience, I have two fur babies of my own who are my world. I spend most of my time with them and one of my most favorite roles in life is being a dog mom. I also know how it feels to leave my dogs alone or to be on trips without them. I genuinely have a very big heart and can't but fall in love with every dog I sit. They will become my babies too! I will make sure to comfort them, love them, and spoil them while you are away.

My fur babies: I have a english creme Golden Retriever and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My fur babies are both extremely friendly. Copper (Cavalier King Charles) is very gentle and sweet. He is very calm and gentle and prefers to cuddle with other dogs instead of playing. He is perfect for the quiet fur babies who like to cuddle and sleep all day. Copper is more on the timid side and might get overwhelmed with dogs that like to rough play and in this case, he will run to me to cuddle. Momoko has puppy energy and is a big extrovert. She loves anything that breathes! When meeting your fur baby, she will get very excited because she is very social and playful. After settling in, she relaxes and takes naps most of the day. The initial meeting is when she is the most excited. If your dog is not the playful type, she knows to eventually take a step back and give your fur baby space. Momoko is also a love bug and will try to kiss your fur baby and cuddle with them if they are more on the calm side. She is especially perfect for fur babies that have lots of energy and want to make new friends to play with. My dogs are extremely loving and sweet. They never bite or hurt other fur babies. They are very socialized as we go out a lot to pet events around island, doggy meetups, and take them to play with their own furrends! Outdoors: I also have a big fenced in yard. I never leave my dogs in the backyard unsupervised. At night time, I scan the yard with a flashlight before going out in case there anything that could harm the doggos. If going out with your pup, I always make sure to buckle up my dogs when riding in the car. I have extra seatbelts for your pup as well. We also go for frequent breaks and take walks 1/2 times a day. When walking at night, I make sure to bring a flashlight so they do not get into something they are not supposed to. I do my best to make sure they are safe and happy because they deserve it! Inside the Home: Inside the home, I always watch the fur babies. I have a gated area in my kitchen where I keep your fur baby if I step away from the home. If there is more than one fur baby staying with us, I make sure that each fur baby has their own secure space when I am away. I only keep fur babies from the same family together. This ensures everyone's safety. I also have AC in my home which I keep on at all times when your or my fur babies are around. Worried about your fur baby being ready for their long stay? Don't worry! I am here to make your fur baby's stay as comfortable as possible. If you are worried about leaving your fur baby during a long stay, we have a plan! Oftentimes, fur babies do better when eased into staying with us. Abrupt and long stays can be scary and anxiety-provoking for anyone! Sometimes leaving dogs for long durations without any prior stays can be stressful on them. I highly recommend starting with 3 or 4 days of doggy daycare where they stay with us all day. After that, it is helpful to ease into short-term boarding for 1-2 nights before their longer stay. This helps them to become familiar with boarding with us and also builds a routine so they know you will be coming back for them! If you would like to create a plan, please feel free to contact me.

I am currently a Clinical Psychology Doctoral student and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. My life schedule revolves a lot around my own fur baby’s needs. A lot of times, I am at home taking my pups out, giving them walks, spending quality time with them, or cuddling with them while I do homework. When your fur baby comes to stay, I provide regular walks, comfort, and especially include them as if they are apart of my family. In addition, if your fur baby sleeps with you, I will let them sleep with me. This is why I like to ask how they sleep so I can give them love when they need but also give them their own space if needed.
