Hello! My name is Chelsea and I am recently back from a year of international travel. I am available for long-term (1 week+) in-home dog and/or cat sitting. I love animals and have many years of experience. I grew up in a family with cats and dogs. My family and I raised an assistance dog and have always hosted breeders for the organization, Canine Companions. That's were I got my start and have been helping others look after their critters ever since. Because I am in currently job hunting, I have flexibility with my schedule and am able to be home with the animals during the day. This was our first time working with Chelsea but we were happy - as were the two dogs! She was comfortable with our adolescent labrador (sometimes a bull in a china shop....), gave them both long walks, left our house clean and tidy -- Thanks Chelsea, we will work with you again!
I have known Chelsea since she was little and she is great with dogs! She comes from a dog family who is active with CCI puppy raising and breeders (cci.org). So she has above average knowledge of training and management of dogs. That to me is the most important skill when it comes to caring for dogs. Most anyone can put food out, make sure the water is fresh and be dependable to show up - but it is understanding the dog's personality and ability to communicate with them that makes Chelsea valuable. Having dogs myself, I only want folks who "speak canine" to care for my critters when I am away. It is safer and happier for my dogs. Chelsea would be top on my dog sitter list.
