Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Charlotte, and I've been a pup lover for as long as I can remember. I live in Sylvan Hills with my husband, our new and oh-so-sweet puppy Disco Dash, our active and smart heeler Captain Snacks, and our sweet young kitty Professor Taco Tuesday (or, to those who know him, The Professor). My favorite summer ever was when I made my living as a dog-walker and dog-sitter in Philadelphia. It was so rewarding to know that I was giving these amazing pet parents peace of mind that their furry family members were getting the care they needed during crazy workdays or vacation adventures. I hope to provide you with the same peace of mind as well. I raised our kitty from the time he was 4 weeks old, and I raised and trained our puppy starting at 12 weeks, so I have great first-hand experience with the needs of younger pets. I also had a precious dachshund Olive who lived to the amazing age of 16, so I have a very soft spot in my heart for senior animals as well. Basically, young and old, big and small, cat and dog --- I am guaranteed to fall in love with your pet! I would love to allow your pets to stay at your house so they feel safe and comfortable, and I am happy to either stay there overnight as well or make sure I plan a late-night and early-morning visit for your pets. Send me a message if you would prefer boarding at my house; we do have a high-energy dog, a young puppy, and a very small cat to consider, but I may be able to make an exception if that offers you extra peace of mind. However, I am only able to board crate-trained and spayed/neutered dogs just so I can make sure all of our many creatures get along well and have their own space!

My goal is to be the best placeholder I can be for your furry ones until you can be reunited with them. If your dog is most comfortable sleeping on the bed, that's a-ok with me. If your kitty loves the laser pointer, I'm always down for a play session. If any animal wants to curl up on the sofa with me while I do my grad school reading, I am totally down for some snuggle time. I am a big fan of the pupdates when we travel and have a sitter, but if I'm overloading you with pics and videos, just tell me a daily quantity that works for you and I'm happy to accommodate. In your house, my guiding principle is to think of it like camping - pack it in and pack it out, leave no trace, and hopefully have it looking a little better than the way I found it.

If your dog has anything physical or behavioral going on, just let me know! I had a senior dog who lived to be 16, and at home we have a special needs dog with behavioral/reactivity issues as well. I also have a VERY high energy border-heeler mix who is so great if he has an outlet for his activity both physically mentally, but he can definitely push our buttons if we don't help him out in this way. If your dog has a favorite toy, blanket, or treat that will soothe them in your absence, feel free to pass that info along. If you have any major concerns and would just feel better with me knowing those, I can handle them! I firmly believe that all dogs can be good dogs with the right amount of structure and love, but the more information I know upfront, the better I am able to care for your beloved pup. As far as your furry friends are concerned, there's no such thing as too much information!
A typical day
Neighborhood walks are such a fun way for us to explore and bond! If I stay at your house and you have a usual route with your dog, please let me know -- it can help your pup feel more comfortable to maintain that routine while you are away. I love to stay active, so if some tug of war or frisbee tossing is up your dog's alley, I'm happy to do that too. Also, I love a good couch snuggle with the best of them, if that's more of their speed.

Availability
I currently work as a yoga teacher and functional fitness instructor with flexible hours and a lot of leeway to map out my weekly schedule depending on the days and times I am needed the most. I am in a grad program with weekend intensive sessions, but I work to keep my calendar up to date with those unavailable days.
