Pet care experience

I love to walk and luckily working from home allows me time to do 2-3 walks a day, dependent on what’s best suited to the dog I am caring for. Any dog that comes to my house automatically becomes a member of the family - I have looked after dogs off all ages, and from all backgrounds so am well versed in how best to help them feel settled and get familiar with the new environment. I look after puppies from 12 weeks, as well as having senior dogs that require medical support and special treatment. I have an endless supply of references, and a long list of family’s who’s dogs I have cared for for years - we are many’s ‘second home’. I receive constant feedback about the brilliant updates I make sure to provide throughout the day, as well as the great mood and condition (I bath after muddy walks, as well as brush once every 3 days) the dogs return home in.

Excellent, friendly, experienced dog sitter! Have used Charlotte many times and she is always great with my dog Poppy! I would highly recommend her !

Charlotte is good with our teenage labrador Brody, he can be very cheeky at times but Charlotte is amazing with him and follows through with his training. If anyone asks me for a dog sitter, Charlotte is the first person I think of.

Charlotte looked after our dog, Merlot, wonderfully. Updates throughout the day and we came home to a very happy dog! Will definitely reach out again when we need him looking after. Thanks Charlotte!

100% recommended! Charlotte is the best pet sitter we have ever had. We have three huskies and an oldie mixed breed with dementia which are surely quite a handful, yet she just took it all in with a smile and in a breeze. She gave detailed updates throughout the day, and responded to the dogs' needs promptly and professionally. We are so blessed to have found Charlotte, and will surely be asking for her help again. Thanks a lot Charlotte!

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a new build with a fully enclosed & secure garden. I also have a stairgate in the kitchen which was a great purchase for dogs who usually sleep downstairs but may have a bit of separation anxiety in a a new house - I find that if the door is open and replaced with a gate they don’t feel separated. We are also happy to have the dog upstairs if that is the preference. If I need to drive to a walking destination, I put the dog in the boot, however if you use a seatbelt and have the dog on the seat usually, I am happy to do the same as long as they are well behaved (and not covered in mud!!). Your dog will have a day packed full of playing, exercise, and plenty of cuddles. My partner is a professional cricketer so is the perfect company on a walk that involves ball throwing!

Information Charlotte F. would like to know about your pet

I cannot take a dog that is aggressive, has guarding behaviours, or would attack another dog. I want a smooth visit, and therefore a dog that does not show any of the above is ideal. I also cannot take a dog with separation anxiety that gets worked up if left alone at all - due to being in a terraced house we avoid dogs that bark as to not disturb the neighbours. Please let me know ahead of time any specifics that I should be aware of, and I will do my best to accommodate any specific requests.

A typical day

I like to get out for a walk before work so that the dogs are ready for a snooze when we get back. I work during the day, but have the sliding doors to the garden open (weather permitted) so they can go in and out as they please whilst I can see them. I then do another walk in my lunch break (30mins) and another longer one after I finish for the day at 5pm depending on the type of dog I have and what your usual routine would be. If I need to pop out, I will check with you before regarding how your dog is when left, and any specifics regarding the length of time they are comfortable with, however if I do need to pop out to run and errand or do a food shop, I tend to time this with when my partner is back from work.

I currently work at home and I have dogs come from a mixture of a few hours - to a couple of months at a time. I am an active individual who loves to walk and dependent on the temperament of the dog, I often do one of my walks each day with two other dog owners and their dogs (however this is not the case if I am caring for a reactive dog or an older pup that prefers the quiet life!). I take the dogs to safe areas with places to run if you wish for them to be off lead, if not, I have extendable leads which I take so that they have a bit more freedom. I will only let your dog off the lead if you request this, and once I feel comfortable that your dog is reliable, no threat to another dog, and has good recall.
