I have grown up in Switzerland with pets my entire life: cats, horses, goats, rabbits, chickens, geese, cockatiels, fish, you name it! More importantly, I have grown up with all breeds and sizes of dogs, and of course I love them! (Labradors, German Shepherds, Pugs, Bulldogs, Border Terriers, Cocker Spaniels, Dachshunds). Currently, I live in a spacious home in Somerville with a backyard, near a lot of parks, greenery and perfect areas right outside of Davis Square to go for strolls or longer walks. I am not fussy about dogs sitting on furniture, I love to be active so can exercise your dog all you want, and miss my dogs back home in Switzerland terribly and hence promise to care for your dog as if it was my own. I will be sure to be very communicative with you, as I am organized, and considering that I will be taking care of someone else’s pet and best friend, I think that it is imperative to always reassure the owner and let them know that everything is well. I will send text updates at least every hour, describing activities, feeding, mood of the rover dog, and what our next plans are. If your dog is ever nervous or anxious I will call the owner right away, and do my best to comfort him or her with stroking, soothing petting or cuddling and a treat or toy to help keep him calm and distracted. If I feel that your dog is anxious to get out and about, going straight outside, getting some fresh air and going for a long walk is very accessible in my area of Somerville where I live. I live in a very safe, calm area where there are few cars and few other dogs roaming around without leashes, so that will never be a problem. I am a senior at Tufts University but seem to have a more flexible schedule than usual as I am currently writing a thesis and am available pretty much everyday of the week. Tuesday’s are the one day that are a little busier for me.
