Patient & Friendly Pet Sitter! 🐾

Pet care experience

My name is Charlotte and I'm a 29 year old, very honest and reliable pet lover, with about 12 years experience owning and taking care of dogs and cats in particular, but also has the expertise in looking after both rabbits and hamsters as well. When I say I'm a "professional pet sitter", what I mean is that I've been on a few different pet sitting websites, mostly Rover, because it's my favorite. Taking care of other people's pets for about 3 years now. Meeting new clients online and then having a few regular clients afterwards who trust me enough to come take care of their pets everytime they need someone to look after them. The rest of my experience comes from owning pets while growing up and looking after my friends pets whenever they need someone to. I love meeting new animals, it's super exciting all the different dogs and cats I get to meet and take care of, and I love coming back to look after them again. To be more specific, me and my 3 younger sisters grew up with 2 dogs, a cat, a guinea pig, a bunch of hamsters and a rabbit named Thumper who was a cageless free roaming rabbit. Thumper was also our first pet which was exciting when your a child, we had him for many happy years. After moving out, I had 2 more cats on 2 separate occasions, the first cat who I named Leo, was a Christmas gift and the second one I named Casper who I adopted off of Kijiji during Covid-19. Since I was home all the time during covid he became very attached to me, following me everywhere. Currently I'm living in a house on the Southside of Edmonton with my sister, her boyfriend, a roommate who is basically a family friend, our dog and my cat. Dogs an cats are mainly the animals I take care of and go for walks while the owners are out of town or working. My services include drop-in visits once or twice a day for about 30-60 minutes long. Letting your dog outside to use the washroom or taking them on a walk. Or I'll come check-in on your cat, clean the litter box, change out the water and feed them. Also giving them some one on one interaction time with cuddles and play time. My other service is walking dogs for 30-60 minutes up to 3 or 4 times per day, depending on what their owner wants and the weather, and breed of dog. I have experience walking stronger dogs, old dogs, and puppies as well. Last but not least, the service I'm most experienced with is overnight pet sitting both dogs and cats. Basically taking care of them 24/7 when the owner needs to be somewhere else for a few days up to a few weeks at a time. I find that when your dog or cat doesn't have to go anywhere, they are less stressed out when you leave. Your pet doesn't feel as out of place because they are still in the same environment. I just basically need to know their normal everyday routine so I can keep it going and keep them comfortbale, letting me know all the little details. For example, the time they go to bed, the time they wake up, when they get fed and how much, where you store their food, toys and poop bags, what kind of activities you do throughout the day, how many walks you take your dog on etc. My goal is to make sure you and your pet feels as safe as possible, with updates throughout the day, sending you pictures and videos of your fur baby. Asking you any questions if I'm unsure about something, always staying in contact with you. I'm available 24/7, this is currently my only job right now while I get my schooling all figured out. So I have lots of spare time to look after your fur babies. I'm here for all of your pets needs and wants, caring for them as if they are my own. I can't use my place right now for boarding since I have a few pets already and I'm also sharing a place with other people. But I can definitely come over to your place any day any time to take care of your pet for however long you need me to stay. My references are great, I'm not perfect by any means but I do learn from my mistakes. I'm very trustworthy in other people's homes, cleaning up after myself, going above and beyond your expectations.

Cannot be trusted. She stole a $100 bill from an envelope of cash in my house. Charlotte had been walking my dog on Fridays and Saturdays for a couple weeks and I was happy with her care. Although she was sometimes unreliable with timing, she did go the extra mile when caring for the dog and cleaned up pee when I told her it wasn't necessary. Friday after work I arrived to see my shelf organized. I figured she was trying to be helpful although she had no reason to be over in that area. I keep an envelope of cash tips I've been saving up on that shelf and counted the money that night and everything was still there. After getting home on Saturday I thought it might actually be best to move the envelope and before I did so I counted it again and found $100 missing. Charlotte was the only one in the house between Friday and Saturday other than myself. Truly disappointing but obviously she should not be trusted to be in anyone's home.

Charlotte house sat for me and took care of my cat Solstice during a critical time. Solstice had gotten injured right before we had to leave and needed extra care and antibiotics every 12 hours. Charlotte went the extra mile, was very attentive, sent detailed updates, and basically took very good care of my injured fur baby. She really gave me peace of mind! Also, she was very respectful in my home and again went the extra mile - I came back to a cleaner house than I left. I am very happy overall!

During the Meet & Greet, I gather as much information I can so that when it comes down to it and it's just me and your fur baby, I will hopefully have all the tools and information I need to make your pet feel comfortable and safe in their own home. If I'm unsure about anything at all I'll definitely get a hold of you. They are definitely in good hands I promise you. ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

Information Charlotte C. would like to know about your pet

It's important to let me know their temperament and how they are with other humans, animals and children, especially if I'm taking them on walks. If your dog is trained to use the washroom outside yet, does your cat know how to use the litter box properly, how often you feed them, what kind of food and treats they eat and where are they stored, what they can and cannot eat, their allergies, how many walks a day do you take your dog on, where you keep the cleaning products, when is garbage day, basically let me know your pets daily routine so I can keep it going the same as usual. You can message/call me anytime, thank you for looking over my profile and I hope to hear from you. (✯ᴗ✯)

A typical day

In a typical day of walking dogs, I'm obviously not familiar with the area at first but after a few walks and google maps you start to know the area. If I'm walking more than one dog at a time, especially bigger dogs, then I like to find a space they can run around in without escaping. For example, an empty ice rink during the summer and fall months is perfect. The dogs can't escape and you can bring a ball with you to throw and they love it. I would do it for all dogs if I could it all depends on the area they live in. By the way, I most definitely get permission from the owners before allowing this. I also bring extra poop bags with me, easily accessible, some water for the dogs and possibly a bowl that folds away and a ball for throwing. Also, a backpack or something to wrap around your waist really helps carry everything especially if your walking multiple dogs. With cats, I'll usually play with them if they are in the mood, brush their fur and lots of pets and love.

Availability

My availability is open all day during the week and weekends as well, unless I'm already booked up that day pet sitting another animal. Other than that, I can walk dogs multiple times per day and at least 3 check-ins a day so no worries there. I'm usually available on all holidays as well so that's also a bonus. 🐕
